ArtPlus Digital Photo Recovery

ArtPlus Digital Photo Recovery can find those special moments on memory cards that have been erased or even damaged. Although the software does its job well and in an intuitive manner, its interface feels outdated and leaves room for improvement.

Pros

Straightforward workflow: While ArtPlus Digital Photo Recovery is nothing fancy to look at, its flow is well thought out and made very straightforward. Regardless of whether you use the Basic or Advanced mode, you're never overwhelmed with options.

Fast and efficient: In our tests we scanned a 64GB SD card for photos, videos, and audio files in a little over 11 minutes.

Disk image support: If the card you're recovering data from is slow, you can create a virtual disk image of the card on your PC and let the software scan it instead. This will greatly speed up the process.

Cons

No previews for audio and video files: Currently, there is no way of previewing an audio recording or a movie right from the memory card.

Outdated interface: The app looks and feels very Windows XP and doesn't blend well with newer, modern apps.

Crippled trial version: All photos recovered with the trial version are watermarked with the app's name. While this may work for removing documents and other written data, it won't sit well in a frame on a shelf.

Bottom Line

While testing ArtPlus Digital Photo Recovery, we were left with the feeling that this software is strictly a utility -- it does its job and then you close it with no real desire to look at it again until you need it. If you need such an app, then consider giving this one a go.
