• Saved our office big time

  Pros

  Enterprise is so simple the most unskilled office clerk can use it with one shot. The interface is really simplified and the product is chalk full of tons of extra settings available through the products setup menu to do just about any scanning job. I was worried after seeing people having problems with passwords but those (l)users need to read the install prompts. I had no problem at all getting my software installed and ready to go. Cant recommend enough for anyone who hate HP or Epson software!

  None. Those occasional discounts are pretty nice. I could only hope for more if I buy an upgrade.

• Scanner Copying Software

  I saw some of the comments for Art-Copy here and wanted to add my own. I have not used the trial version but I have been using Art-Copy 7.5.3 Business version (November 2004 build) for several years. The features I use the most are; Scan To File, Scan To Application and Copy. <p>I got the software because I had bought a scanner (for scanning photographs) and found that from time to time I wanted to copy a document and was unable to easily do so. I don’t own a copy machine. (Do ordinary people own copying machines?) So instead of buying a copying machine I got Art-Copy. The copying feature is easy to use, and if I want to scan a multiple page document I am able to do so with the batch scanning. <p>Also, when I need to send a multiple page document to someone Art-Copy is able to use my fax modem. I have used it to send copies to businesses and to friends. (My friends have fax machines at work.) <p>Another neat feature is its ability to make PDF files. Any document I make (such as a MS Word document) can be printed out and then scanned to a PDF file. Art-Copy makes a file that I can read and print out from Adobe Reader. This is cool because I really don’t want to upgrade to Acrobat in order to save to PDF. <p>Art-Copy also has the ability to scan to email. If you have MS Outlook it will bring it up and you can then select your email recipient and send photos and documents directly to them.

  Cons

  Some of you may be hesitant about the price point of the software. I know that from time to time they have special sales. They don’t, however, overwhelm you with annoying spam. So if you’re not sure try the shareware and use it for a while. Thirty bucks for the basic version isn’t so bad. When you download it make sure you give them a valid email address because they will send you a code to activate the software. Also if you have any questions their tech support department does respond to inquiries.

  I kept trying to scan a whole document and it would always cut it down to the center text leaving off my header and footers. I would also always have to reselect save to pdf even though I set it as the default.
