This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I'm always very conscientious about keeping my computers up-to-date and this update had not been done previously on my 867 MHz 12" Aluminum PowerBook (I tried it a second time and was told that I didn't need it), which I bought new back in 2003. The update may have an old timestamp, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was ever released to the general public. There have been other Bluetooth updates in the past and I applied them as soon as I was sure there weren't widespread problems.
That said, the update installed fine and my Bluetooth is still functional. I was able to surf the Web on my PDA, using my PowerBook as a Bluetooth-to-WiFi bridge.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
G4 PB 1.33 GHz 10.4.3
Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 1.6.6f22
Ran the updater, it stalled with the option to quit or update available, retried to update, same stall, quit and then no more bluetooth.
Until an open firmware reboot, reset-nvram, set-defaults, reset-all...which now allowed the hardware to be re-recognized
all this on an otherwise very stable system, in safe-boot mode
Any suggestions?
Worked fine

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I was skeptical, but after applying this update to my Powerbook G4 1.5 GHz with Bluetooth 1.1, the "Allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer from sleep" option is no longer grayed out and I am able to wake my computer up with my Apple bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard continues to work without problems. Hotsyncing my Palm T4 still works. Tranferring files from a Nokia 6310i and from a Motorola V3 Razr also both still work.

Elegant, easy to use, and cool.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I suppose I would have held off had I read some of these posts first - my experience - Bluetooth Firmware Updater 1.2 cycles endlessly between Searching for device... preparing to update... and idle. Then warns not updated. Perhaps good that I did not complete if it woudl result in problems.
