Editors’ Review
It's an interesting premise, but there seems to be little need for the limited features offered by this simple text saver.
AllRecall Quo's collapsible interface sits on the left of your screen. Click on the tab to pull the tray out, retract it, and close the program. No Help file is included, but most won't have any problems using this simple app.
There's a starter folder labeled My Quotes in a simple tree list. You can add other folders through the context menu, which also lets you rename or open a folder. If you can drag and drop text, you can use this program. It works whether you're on a Web page or in Microsoft Word. Select text and drag it to a folder where it's available for later viewing. You can open the entries in a folder with a simple click. The date, the URL, and the source's site name or doc name are listed along with the text. You can't edit the saved text, but you can move a folder to the desktop and its contents will be saved in a Help file format. A range of save options, or an export feature, would have been better.
There's a 20-day trial limitation in place, and you can't use the search function (it isn't even shown as an option) with the demo version. While we liked how this program collected Web and other text snippets, we'd need to see more flexibility in how you manage them before recommending it.
