  Pros

  This has all the features you need. Once you get a rowset you can perform spreadsheet-like features on it. Which will save you from writing more SQL.

  Cons

  Way over priced for what you get. While it's a more feature rich application than Query Tool (using ODBC), its not worth the extra $100.

  Pros

  I have been using this program for over four years. I used it everyday against DB2, Teradata and dBase databases. I have also used it against Oracle and MySql databases. <p> <p> <p>I feel it is as good as Toad for Oracle plus it can work against any major database. <p> <p> <p>I like having the ablity to have open connections against multi database at the same time. <p> <p> <p>One of the best features of the 7.1.3 and above is reformating the sql. Once I receive sql from some people it is usally on a few lines and I like to have each field, table, conditions on separate lines. <p> <p> <p>The simple DDL is greate to document a database.

  Pros

  AQT is simply an essential database management tool. I have worked with many other database tools and I have found AQT to be the best. I am always finding a new valueable feature. To a DBA the Extended Edition is well worth the extra cost over the excellent regular edition. <p> <p>The most important feature of AQT in my opinion is the extraordinary support. The author is readily available via the support newsgroup. I have many pieces of software on my computer and this is simply the best supported of them all.

  Pros

  A plus is the fact that the tool uses ODBC connections and therefore is database-independent. It gives the user alot of functionality.

  Cons

  The application has a bad performance when it comes to reading database objects like tables, indexes etc. For large databases (100+ objects) the application even hangs. Besides the performance the application is absolutely not intuitive. The GUI is highly out-dated. There are hardly any gridoptions to analyze data quickly. All in all a tool which, if not rebuild with the latests technology will NOT have any future.

  Pros

  I go and run SQL against AS400/DB2, proprietary PI OsiSoft, MS SQL Server, and Sybase, for $150. A lifesaver on my datawarehousing projects. I bought my team copies of it, because they couldn't do their job without it!

  Cons

  Not as good as TOAD or PL/SQL Developer for Oracle systems, but it doesn't really play in that space.

  Pros

  I have been using AQT since late 2001, I bought personal license in 2002. I fell in love since the first time I used it. I love all the functionality, and the ability to connect to any db (unlike TOAD). I have influenced so many customers and colleagues to use this software for their DB queries, or even some DBA jobs. Recently one of my client, a major bank in Malaysia bought the license for this Software, and I won't be surprised if more big companies will follow, or even buy the company, but hopefully not. <p>AQT also has the best customer support ever. Just post email to theit usergroups with the problem and the bugs, the will instantly help. <p>I dare anyone to name any other DB software that comes with such customer support with such extremely cheap price. FANTASTIC, AMAZING, keep up the good work.

  No Cons whatsoever, although I like the GUI to be more advanced, but I'm more than satisfied with the GUI, function over fashion :-D Please don't move to Java apps like DB2 Control Center or Oracle, they're so frustratingly slow.

  Pros

  I have been using this product since 2002 and it is the only database tool you will ever need. One of the strong points about this software is it's versatility. I use it on SQL Server 2000 most of the time but have used it on Oracle 9i also. Anytime you need to log onto any database this is the tool to use. It connects clean and will serve the beginner as well as the advanced. A great product.

  This is the best database tool i have used. <p>It`s simple to use, yet wery powerfull. <p>I can strongly reccomend it to others. <p>We uses it against db2/390, udb, sqlserver and Microfocus xdb. Works great all the time.

  First: <p>(I nearly do not have the heart to write about it... The tool is very inexpensive! But pssst...: Mum's the word!) <p> <p>Navigate through your databases like through your files on your disc: <p> <p>You want to see all your tables? Make one click on a schemaname. <p>The columns of the tables? One click. The Indexes? Two clicks. <p>Dependent Tables? RIs? Sizes? Comments? Tablespaces? ... All of them (and much more): One or two clicks. <p>The data in the tables? Doubleclick. A Sort? click. <p>Search for rows? A few clicks... (no room for details. But mostly you have only to choose one value from a list) <p> <p>Group the data by a column-value? Simply drag & drop the columnname. <p> <p>Search for tables by a known columnname? Find the column, click on it and (surprise) see all the searched tables. <p> <p>More examples: <p>The SQL-Editor with Syntax-highlighting, <p> <p>You can execute a syntax-check, run the SQL, explain it, <p>display the explain-graph, use parameters and fill them with values by statements or an automatic dialog. <p> <p>There is a graphical select-editor to join tables.   This tool is a hazard for my job (DB-Admin)! <p>Yesterday I was expert. <p>Today everyone being able to count to ten and using AQT can administrate a Database, too ... :-)

  Pros

  I can do NEARLY everything I can with the Enterprise DB tools (QUEST, BMC)but at a fraction of the cost.

  Cons

  - Lacks a monitoring tool (but DB2Mon is good) <p>- Adding Groups/users to objects permissions is a little awkward (DB2 Control center is easier)
