The Actual SQL Server ODBC Driver lets you access your company's Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase databases from within Microsoft Excel and FileMaker Pro. You can connect to any database you are authorized to use, and work with the data just like your Windows-using co-workers. Our ODBC driver supports both methods of SQL Server authentication - SQL Server accounts and trusted domain accounts. This means that no special configuration of the database is needed in order for you to connect. You just need an account, using whatever authentication method your organization has chosen. All installation takes place on your Mac - nothing is installed on the server itself. This ODBC driver provides you with ease of use and performance you've come to expect as a Mac user. The driver includes an installer, connection setup assistant, on-line help, and connection diagnostic tools. With this Mac ODBC solution, you'll be importing data from your SQL Server in no time. Compatible with MS SQL Server, Sybase ASE and Sybase ASA.
This software is really great if you need to connect a FileMaker database to a SQL/ODBC database. A client of mine has been using it for years. Excellent phone and email support. Very responsive. Often you're dealing directly with the developer.
Cons
It's highly refined, and I don't know of any.

This product is invaluable for connecting FileMaker Pro databases to ODBC databases accessed via SQL Server.
My client, a financial services company, has deployed this SQL Server driver on multiple computers for about four years. It has proven to be highly reliable. Setup is easy -- especially after the first one. A graphic designer in the client's office sets up new computers with no intervention from me.
Support is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable but depends on a limited pool of people.
Also see some usage tips I intend to post shortly.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've been searching for a way to connect to my company's SQL server to import data into a FMP DB. I thought I was forever condemned to use my PC as an intermediary between the two. Thankfully, Actualâ??s product has filled the gap! I can now directly import into FMP 6 from our SQL db! What's more, Jonathan (the developer) literally went out of his way to help me with a technical issue I was having by stopping by my company while he was serendipitously in my city! Certainly, one can't expect house-calls (or business-calls in this case) to frequently occur, but any developer willing to do so should be applauded for his dedication to the customer and his product. Jonathan was able to solve my issue in no time and now I'm happily working with SQL data on my Mac! $29 seems like a very reasonable price to pay for the convenience. Keep up the good work!
