Similar to many applications, ACS Capture lets you record movies and screenshots of all your PC activities. We had a couple of issues with the interface, although we appreciated the large, descriptive icons for all the major functions. First of all, the program's gray-on-blue color scheme makes it hard to read some of the options. Secondly, the feature for recording AVI or SVF video clips defaults to a tiny window that only captures a small portion on the screen. We were able to change it to full-screen capture mode, but we really think the developer should have made that the default setting. You can take still screenshots with the press of a button, and you can also extract individual frames from movie clips. If you need to annotate or tweak your screenshots or videos, ACS Capture offers a basic built-in editor. Its design quirks notwithstanding, this utility makes a handy tool for computer instructors and desktop-support specialists.

A really useful program!

Pros
First step: Ignore the ranting of the person who rated it 1 star. She/he must have used a different program. <p> <p>I found this to be an excellent program, particularly as it is the only application I have so far found that will capture the activities of MS Agent characters. <p> <p>It is simple to use, with a straightforward interface, which like most, just takes a little time to get used to.
Cons
It does not have (as far as I could find) the ability to record the sound stream from a video. I make MS Agent videos with their own sound streams, and find occasionally that I need to play these as AVI output. <p> <p>While ACS Capture records sound from a microphone, it does not capture the sound through a sound card. I hope to be corrected on this point :-)

Do not listen to the guy who rated it 1 star. This program is easy to and perfectly straight foward. It captures videos and images...and records all your actions. It has a simple interface that shouldn't trouble anyone.

I have no idea how this could come to be an editor's choice unless the editor fell asleep. So much unnecessary clutter is on the screen you will wonder how such a simple task as grabbing a frame can be turned into an unending nightmare. You will quickly see the reason why software programmers should not be allowed to design the human interface. They have no idea what a human is! Download this program if you wish to spend the rest of your life babysitting and trying to get this program to function. This has a screen 10 times larger than it should be so it is contantly in the way of anything you try to view. Until the programmer someday wakens to daylight with the realization "Keep it simple, stupid". Don't waste your time.
