AcePDF for Windows

AcePDF is a desktop application that modifies and structures PDF documents. It includes PDF Editing tools that modify existing text and embedded images within a file. The interface provides Page Management controls that insert, delete, extract, rotate, and rearrange document pages. A built-in Conversion module processes files between PDF and formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, and image types. 

AcePDF also integrates Annotation and Markup functions for text highlighting and commenting, as well as OCR (Optical Character Recognition) for extracting text from scanned files. Additional modules include Forms and Security settings, as well as a Compression tool for reducing file size.

Integrated tools for every document

AcePDF’s text layers in a document can be edited directly through fields that map to existing PDF structures. Image objects are selectable and can be resized or replaced without reformatting the surrounding layout. Page operations operate on a document tree: selected pages are repositioned or removed, and merging combines multiple source files into a single output. Splitting divides documents based on page ranges or file-size criteria.

File transformation processes rely on format mapping that interprets layout elements such as paragraphs, tables, and images. During conversion, the system reconstructs these elements into editable formats like DOCX or XLSX. Reverse conversion builds a PDF container from source files while preserving structural alignment. Output settings allow adjustments to resolution and formatting rules, which affect how embedded objects and fonts are handled during export.

Markup tools operate through overlay layers that sit above the base document, allowing highlights, shapes, and text comments without altering the original content. The OCR engine scans image-based pages, detects character patterns, and converts them into selectable text stored within the document layer. Form modules generate interactive fields such as checkboxes and input boxes, while security settings apply password restrictions and permission flags to control document actions. However, the software currently offers limited automation features for high-volume workflows.

Precision editing

AcePDF provides document editing, structural page control, and bidirectional file conversion within a single system. Layered annotation tools, text recognition for scanned files, and customizable form elements are all included. Security features apply access restrictions and signature fields. Limitations arise from the lack of advanced automation workflows and the limited customization of conversion settings for complex layouts. The system centers on direct manipulation of PDF content and structured document handling.
