I first learned how to play the game while in the Navy back in the seventies. It was just wonderful to have stumbled upon this game for the Mac! I am not a big "computer game player" and before now, I had no games loaded on my Mac...Its now the only game I have on my Mac!!

We play the analog way--outdoors, on the patio and I needed a way to practice but didn't want to play online. This game is the perfect solution for me. It has an elegant interface and it's tons of fun. Yes, it's pricey, but well worth it for the enjoyment. And the the computer suggestions are a great learning tool. To the reviewer who believes the computer opponent plays poorly: All I can say is that I'm challenged. There is a LOT of luck in Acey Deucy--that's part of what makes it so enjoyable (or infuriating!). Games tend, I think, to be won or lost by big margins. All I can say is, if you play enough, I think you'll find plenty of challenging games (and plenty of bad, as well as good, luck.)

I have since been playing David's Backgammon and Absolute Backgammon, hoping that there would someday be a similar computer version of Acey Deucey. And now, here it is. Absolute Acey Deucey plays with the same verve as my old ship mates and I love it.
