A-Dock X is an implementation of A-Dock for Mac OS X 10.2. It is not a remplacement for the Dock but a side-dock with some different features. Features include a skinnable interface with customizable colors and transparency, 10-level deep folder browsing, spring-loaded folders, hot keys, and exclusion lists. In addition, it allows you to position the Dock around the edges of your screen more freely.
My all time favorite utilities app needs urgent updates

Pros
Been a power user of A-Dock for years to end, I can't find no alternative app for A-Dock. Please keep up the good work and improve it!
Cons
With the upgrade to OSX LION it seems like the application has now some conflicting issues with Finder which has produced more death pizza balls in my iMac in a month than in many years with previous versions.
Something needs to be fixed somewhere.
As of today, I have been for 2 weeks with the application deactivated, it is not in my start up items anymore, as it's been for ages, and now I am just forced to deal with Finder commands to switch applications, play a guess game to notice how many apps are open at the same time, etc, etc. A real pain not having it around!
Summary
Again, with no alternative application around to compete with A-Dock, I want to keep using it as I have for years, but please, check what is wrong with it now. Effectively, the "dummy" network folders called "home: and "net" showing up in the previous versions are now gone, but something is still not quite right.
I am waiting already for the next update. Until then, I am not using it.

Nice way to have some fun with the dock.

Pros
Being able to turn off all open applications at once.
Cons
It has become less useful to me as OS X has progressed to Snow Leopard.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've used A-Dock for years. It's streamlined my workflow and easily saved me hours and hours every single week. I use A-Dock far more than the Apple Dock!
Now . . . the new version 1.5.5 is supposed to provide access via the Finder menu. I don't see it. What should I be doing differently?
Still doesn't work right

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
It launches ok and quits ok in auto hide mode but you only see the icons once. When it hides and then reappears at mouse over all you see is a white rectangular strip. If you leave it to not auto hide the icons show fine but when you quit an application you've launched A-Dock disappears and has to be quit from Apples Activity Monitor. Sorry but it's back to the drawing board I think.
This is simply *the* premiere dock substitute for...

I'm surrprised Apple hasn't "Watsoned" the product by now.
Still improving!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I cannot speak highly enough of Jerome's work with A-Dock. I paid for it back in the OS 9 days, and I gladly paid for it again when the OS X version arrived. Fantastic work from an incredibly responsive developer. Bravo!
Yet another great update

Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This application has always been wonderful. I've been a registered user since the OS 9 days. It does what the OS X Dock should do...however..
I have longed for a feature to be added to this program. The ability to have more than one A-Dock i.e an App/Favorite dock on the left side and a Disk/Network drive dock on the right. So perhaps a Show selected Modules on Right/Left option?
Add that and this is dock nirvana
Still Great

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
As always, Jerome, it does what it aims to do, and it does it well. I've gladly paid for the software (twice, because that's how much I appreciate it), and with the frequent updates and incredibly responsive developer, this is worth every penny, pence or franc. Period. Keep it up, Jerome!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
A great product I've been using since my OS 9 days. Much more functional than Apple's version. Easy to customize.
Always excellent followup by Jerome. Previous poster's complaint about a $10 fee for a "beta" version is confounding given what this product offers. Keep up the great work Jerome.
