Volutive Free Invoicing & Inventory allows you to customize your invoice templates from top to bottom, print your invoices quickly, and e-mail copies of them in PDF or JPEG. You will also be able to send any report by e-mail in HTML with this invoicing system, useful for individuals as well as for small companies. Volutive includes items, customers, vendors, invoices and purchase orders. Both sales tax names and the way they are worked out can be customized for non-US users (special attention to Canadian taxes).

Version 1.3 includes unspecified updates.

Good Program for Invoicing...Buggy Installer

Great invoicing tool.. started using it in 2006 for invoicing in my small business... my computer crashed/died this year so I had to download the new version... see CONS Section, Fix It and it will be AWESOME for what it is.
Cons
The latest version while it is fully functional... the installer sucks.... AVG Antivirus when performing its regular scan... found a Trojan Horse in the install program and wants to kill it... go figure! a foreign made software that works... it is free but infects your computer with a virus... on CNET of all places..

Simple to use but full-featured.

The template editor is TOO freeform, allows you to put things where they just shouldn't be (even off the page), plus it has no undo feature. I don't know if it was my particular setup or what, but I could never get it to print anything, not even to PDF, kept saying my printer selection was invalid.
Summary
This program was the easiest to use and quickest to set up out of the 10 or so I tried here on download.com, and it did everything I needed, until I needed to print. Help documentation has no troubleshooting section, and the author's website doesn't even acknowledge this program exists, so there's no support at all for this program.

This product would be perfect for a warehouse or distribution center type of business. There are forms ready to customize with lots of detail, including 3 different price points, discounts, sales commissions, taxes, vendors and so forth. Everything gets a number to keep you organized. The help files are many, well organized, clear and detailed.
Cons
Some of the language/terminology could be unexpected- ie: "Totally paid" and "Enterprises" (which are your business types). Could be very cumbersome/time consuming to set up, especially if you want to customize or simplify the print forms a lot.
Summary
Great program, especially being free. "invoicing and inventory" is a very good title, so if this is your business type, then it will be perfect for you!

Website is in Spanish. No support. Help menu doesn't make any sense either. Poor translation ie your business name is requested as an Enterprise. It starts with a "code" but it isn't a code at all but rather a number so you can keep all of your different business accounts separate. I doesn't get any more logical from there.
Summary
It may have been a good program in Spanish for people who speak Spanish but for most of us, it isn't worth the time.

Easy to customize, easy to use for a small store or shop it is one of the best programs out there. Easy to invoice and do work orders. Reports easy to use but while you can have multiple tax rates it doesn't break it down.
Cons
Great program but the developer had abandoned it so no updates or tech support, but you really don't need it. No support for point of sale Can't break down parts vs labor in reports easily.
Summary
A few minor changes and features and if was still supported it would give it 5 stars.

Has seemingly everything a small business with inventory could ask for. I haven't used the POS features yet, but it apparently does support a bar code scanner, printer, cash drawer and customer display.
Cons
I had some problems with warning boxes while modifying the configuration. It was just an annoyance though, not a functional problem. These warning boxes might have been my fault.
Summary
You couldn't ask for much more in an inventory program, especially for FREE. There are more features than I have time to list. Just download it and start messing around with some of the buttons, you'll see what I mean. Great program!

The program is great and amazing that it is free. When you compare them with pea*******tree its a deal. Reports are limited.Since a lot of my invoices include labor, there is no way to go back and exclude labor when figuring taxes.

The old version was a network version. The current on is for a work station. The old system allowed different computers to make sales and it was keep merged if it was on the same network. Thank goodness I kept an old copy.

With a little planning before you began, it will keep up with a small business and is great for keeping up with E-Bay sales. Allows for several businesses to be run using the same program. My wife's craft sales., golf cart business, E-Bay sales, Handyman services.
