• Some fail to use it properly ...

  Pros

  NO, freeware programs don't do the same thing ! I have tested freeware with high reviews and they're all LIMITED in recovering so You have to get their pay-ware and I have tried some paywares (with high reviews) but they either goes around in circles, recovers a fragment or screws up Your drives . I used only UFS-RE STANDARD and it made miracles ! FIRST use another computer to start making a bit-by-bit (or as much as possible ...) COPY of the victim-drive to a storage-place . Install UFS-ER on this other computer and use UFS-ER from it to scan your drive and use it several times to save small portions at a time and turn off drive if blocked .

  Cons

  Professional edition is expensive (200 ? at this time) and probably overkill for most people, it has RAID-recovery too, better details on files and more . There seems to be a problem in enlargening the text in the program ?

  Summary

  Tried on some small files and they worked so I paid $50 AUD and the big important files were corupted and would copy accross . not ufs fault but pissed that i spent $50 expecting it to work and it didnt . try free ones first

  The trail edition has an extraction limit of only 16kb and a $80 price tag (Not the $40 as list). The publishers are ask you to take too big a leap of faith to buy this product in hopes that it will extract all files. There are freeware programs that do the same thing. <p> <p>I might have purchased the program if 1) the goofy extraction limit was lifted 2) You correctly documented the price / features. You are falsy advertising on CNET.
