• Expensive, "Phantom Features," and No Support

  SmaryLaunch started off well enough, but at $2.50 per device per month it gets expensive fast. That would be fine if there were support, and you will need support, but there is nothing that most would call support. They like to respond, if and when they get around to responding, with "read the knowledge base." They do this even if the problem is NOT in the knowledge base (KB) and/or if you have indicated that you have read the pertinent KB entries. It's as if the support people don't know the product themselves. I could not get one "feature" at to work at all and their ultimate response was, "I am sorry that you feel that way [that it doesn't work]." Now, how's that for support?! After a while I got the idea that several of the features were "phantom." I use virtual PCs to test and I could not get several of the features to work. A lot of those "features" were poorly documented, if they were at all, and support's typical response, if they responded at all, was "read this or that KB article." Ultimately this is a good Cafe management software for a small cafe or one not needing any of the advanced ("phantom") features, but then why would you want to pay $2.50 per device per month for basic features.

  Pros

  Been using SmartLaunch for two weeks now, and I am really really impressed! <p>By now I haven't even been through half of all the cool features it has. <p> <p>What I like the most so far is the smooth interface, customer ordering, ease of use, (did I say cool interface?) and the fact that it got it all.

• The best cafe administration software available

  Pros

  I've been running SL4 since July, when it was still beta. Since then, I have only had one crash. I immediately placed an emergency support request, and was on the phone with an SL team member, and had the problem fixed within the hour. SL delivers first-class support to its customers. <p> <p>This is an excellent overall product, that has a very professional interface, and has the stability my business requires. There really is no other cafe administration software that is comparable; Smartlaunch is in a class of its own.

  Is this a joke! They advertise $30 and the program actually costs $1400. That is not funny. <p> <p>I spent an hour downloading the 64mb file and then went through the nightmare install process thinking it is worth it, it is only $30. Liars! I couldn't find anything on their site for $30 to buy. If I want to run my new cafe for 50 customer computers, I would have to fork over $1400. The other 2 major softwares are 1/3 of that. <p> <p>Check out Cybercafe Pro and Antemedia before wasting your time on this one. I have a decision to make but it sure won't be this one. It doesn't even run properly, loaded with errors.

  Just installed the Smartlaunch 4.0 system in my 64 PC cafe last week, and sofar i have been very happy with both the software and the support. The software have a lot of usefull feature!!!

  Can think of anything... - but of cause it could be free :-)
