Download is quick and very easy to install.

1: Upon startup gives errors 2: Does not work
Summary
I had hoped to be able to use this program as an alternative to keeping my browser window open while listening to Slacker. However, I now see why this download is not available from the Slacker Website. It does not work at all. It gives script errors upon startup and it won't even let me search for artists. In a matter of ten minutes, I downloaded, installed, tried it out, and uninstalled.
It's own forum talks of serious Viruses

free, easy to download, easy to trick people in to thinking it's a good program.
Cons
slow and riddled with viruses, even it's own forum has tons of people that have gotton viruses from the adds on it's web site and player.
Summary
If you like your computer, stay away from this. If you like viruses, then get it.

Simple station creation with lots of features and station creation options. Excellent sound quality. The Customer Care reps are knowledgeable and very fast to respond. There is also a good social community developing at Slacker Social dot com.
Cons
The software is not designed to handle large collections of personal music. A couple of times the software failed to respond, this could be related to my specific computer configuration.

Slowed VISTA in half immediately upon download. Window for Player then opened and then froze computer, all taskbar processes froze, the time shown changed to something impossible and no processes could be started or ended. Even the SLACKER PLAYER window froze. Could not remove either by Control Panel Remove Programs or delete all Slacker folders and files. Had to System Restore to use Windows again, in safe mode, to remove bad program. A program that seizes control, crashes everything , and refuses to be removed is known as M___ware is it not?

I read about Slacker in a magazine, and found a download here for it. I can't believe how amazing the music sounds, even on my slower computer at home. I found all of my favorite bands and it always plays the best songs I like. This is the best music I have found online - thanks Slacker :)

I wish I could search by song, but usually Slacker plays what I like anyway, also a portable player is supposed to be coming but there is no information on this.

These guys have taken Pandora to the next level, where you pick exactly what music is played on your station. Not only that, you can take it with you with their mobile player. The interface is friendly and easy to navigate. A solid performer.
Cons
The music selection is very good but can sometimes repeat a bit, but it's minor.
