SBox secures your important files and folders, but it's a bit of a resource hog. The program gets off to a rocky start as the installation instructions and button labels aren't in English, although we managed to install the program without any problems. Fortunately the plainly designed interface has English language labels and proves very easy to follow. It's a simple process to browse and select files for encryption and you can process individual or batch files and save them to a directory of your choice. We appreciate that it can compress the encrypted files, create self-decrypting files, and securely delete the originals. SBox includes a file shredder that can perform from one to seven cleaning passes and an EasyMail feature for quick sending of encrypted files. However, the encryption process uses quite a few system resources and greatly affects other running programs. Despite the installation issue, this freeware is a nice option for encrypting and sending files, though users with low-performing systems should probably look for a program that isn't so resource-intensive.
I have used an older version of Sbox that I really liked.
Cons
Wanted to get the latest version for my new computer and found the download here. The installer is not in English and one has to guess what is happening during install. Once installed the interface is completely different than the old stand-by version. Attempting to use the program in anyway causes it to crash. Tried reinstall several times, no use. maybe it is a Vista issue...
<p>In short, I give up...
Encrypt and decrypt files and texts. The SBox is a professional encryption tool for files and text. It can create self-decrypted files and it can destroy files with secure way. The environment is very easy to handle it.
