This tiny freeware effective stops and starts Spoolsv with a mere mouse click. Process Stopper Spoolsv's interface is little more than a small dialog with a short description and four buttons. Considering two of the buttons really aren't needed, it's no surprise this is a simple program to operate. You won't need a manual or Help file.

This little application simply displays buttons to immediately start or stop the service with a click. Process Stopper Spoolsv isn't an application that should be kept running. It uses about three times the memory as the service it is designed to stop. That's not a problem if you open it merely to start or stop Spoolsv. However, it does add a click or two to the process. Our testers did discover the program would crash if the Stop Process was clicked when the Spoolsv process wasn't active.
It would have been useful to split this utility into two components; Start Spoolsv and Stop Spoolsv. Users could then create shortcuts to truly start or stop Spoolsv with a quick double-click. However, as it is, anyone who must start and stop Spoolsv on a regular basis should add Process Stopper Spoolsv to their system. It's simple, helpful, and effective freeware.
