Transform your Pocket PC into a portable Macintosh.
PocketMac, the original Mac-to-Pocket-PC sync software allows Mac users to transform their Pocket PC into a portable Macintosh.Until this product was created, there was no way for these two systems to communicate; the Pocket PC is a Windows-based PDA and does not have any native ability to talk to a Mac.PocketMac exchanges and keeps up-to-date Mac users' vital data. It can also change the look and feel of a Pocket PC into that of a Macintosh.

Great in concept, but TERRIBLE in execution

Pros
Cons
This company provides ZERO support to its customers. Even after I paid $60 for a telephone support call I got NO call back or email return. They took my money and never even helped me. This software can potentially mix up all your contacts and duplicate them. They claim it works with Entourage but it never works.

Doesn't work with Leopard - Do not return your money!!!!

Pros
It doesn't work with Leopard on my iMac. I've tried all of the workarounds listed on the support site.
Cons
When I bought this software from Pocketmac their website says that they guarantee their software. Money back guarantee. Don't believe it. I sent the invoice from their online store stating that the software cannot detect my at&t 8525 and that I wanted my money back within a week of the purchase and never received a response from them!!! Do Not buy from these people!!!

Luckily it never even installed on my iPaq so I avoided the horror stories. Never worked, horrible service. Too bad I have to give at least one star.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I managed for several months to make PocketMac Lite sync my Dell Axim x50v. It was buggy and difficult to use. When the pocket PC is connected, both my computer and the device lose their internet connection. My experience with support was less than desirable. The kicker: the product won't work with the intel chip in my new MacBookPro! I switched to the MIssing Sync and couldn't be happier!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Pocketmac does not work with Windows Mobile 5. If you email them, they will tell you it doesn't work. What they won't tell you is whether or not you can ever expect it to work. There is no timeline. There isn't even any information on whether there is works in progress or not.
With most pocketpc's coming out with WM5 preinstalled, it makes the longevity of this programme rather short. Missingsync doesn't currently work with WM5, but at least the developers are saying they are hoping to get it working soon. These clowns? Nothing.
PocketMac, ONLY if you have time and money to burn.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.

Unless you are a complete nerd and enjoy a hacking challenge, I would strongly urge you to walk away from this product. It's glitchy, erratic and their development team always seems to be behind the curve.

I submitted a trouble ticket a week ago and have yet to hear from their tech support. 3.51 won't even launch on Tiger 10.4.3, so I finally just gave up and shelled out another $40 for "Missing Sync," sight unseen. I'm glad I did. It works great with my Audiovox AMT5600 Smartphone.

My suggestion: whether you've bought PocketMac or not, just step away and plop down the cash for Missing Sync. But READ THE DOCUMENTATION FIRST (it's well written and comprehensive, so don't sweat it). You have to PROPERLY uninstall PocketMac from your Mac AND your mobile device before installing Missing Sync.

I've only used it for a week, but it's so much better.

This is of Freeware quality at most

Pros
Syncs contacts. Syncs calender (sort of).
Cons
After listing all the cons, it actually exceeded the word limit allowed here, so I had to post them as a blog at macadvice.blogspot.com - Please have a read, especially if you are thinking of buying PocketMac.
