Fast, versatile, powerful. Opens .exe installation files such as iTunes6464setup.exe as archives so you can install only the non-bloatware items and leave the rest.
Cons
Now it crashes every time. Running the Compatibility Troubleshooter and setting it to Windows 8 settings did not help.
Summary
Going back to the PKZIP for DOS days, this was my favorite archive utility ever. But it doesn't run in Windows 10, at least not in my particular installation configuration. Very sad.

I'm not offering a scientific or geeky review here, I recently adopted PeaZip after I had trouble with 7zip and needed a Free and Reliable source to extract .zip and .rar files, nothing more nothing less, I wanted a software that included a nice and functional context menu with no fuss, briefly, something easy to use, and I got all that and more with PeaZip!.. I recommend this software without hesitation, I'm 100% satisfied with it. Cheers...

-beautiful and intuitive GUI -context menu integration -support for various popular formats -never had any problems during years of frequent use
Cons
-slightly out of context but freearc is my favourite format but its development seems to have stalled for quite a while since 0.67 alpha
Summary
IMO choosing amongst WinRAR (shareware), WinZip (shareware), 7-Zip (open-source), PeaZip (open-source) or Gnome File-Roller (open-source) is just down to personal preference. I love PeaZip's GUI and that's it.

I tried to unzip 54 zip files by right-clicking and choosing extract to folder, most of which were only 1-3K large, and Windows ran out of RAM, tried to increase the swap file, and PeaZip threw up a ton of error messages saying it was out of memory. What kind of unzipper is too stupid to unzip the files one at a time? 1. Create the new folder 2. Unzip file #1. 3. Unzip file #2. 4. Etc. Instead, it looks like it's launching a copy of itself for each file and trying to have all the copies running before it starts to unzip anything! What the heck?
Summary
It may have OpenCandy. I found it with Malwarebytes on machines I installed PeaZip on.

Great UI. Frequent updates. Many compression and almost all extraction formats.
Cons
Slower than 7zip and winrar. Compression and extraction progress is not shown properly like winrar. Cant extract rar5.
Summary
Great app but need many improvement as many users noted. Great UI but change the logo. Make it faster. Has potential to be my main archive app if you fixed above issues.
This product works great. Unzip with ease.

Unzips all zip files I've tried. Easily unzip to any folder on my computer. Easy to understand and use.
Cons
None that I'm aware of but I only use it for unzipping files.

Cons
Packaged with other rubbish such as Amazon toolbar etc but you have to understand that they have to make some money from somewhere and including third party software does that. You have the option to NOT install these things though!
Summary
Does exactly as advertised and works perfectly on Win8. Very simple and easy to use and even uses nice icons unlike others such as 7zip. Don't forget to decline installation of the other bundled rubbish unless you want it!
Would not run - unhandled exception errors

None - the software would not run, it only created errors.
Cons
I tried to install the 64-bit version (running WIN7ultimate 64bit) - seemed to install fine, but when I ran it I got unhandled exception errors that multiplied every time I tried to close the error window.
Summary
I can't rate the performance of this software since I was never able to run it successfully.

- extracts numerous types of compressed files, including RAR, ZIP, 7z & exe - super-fast extraction - ultra compact compression, esp with the 7z format - FREE and open source
Cons
Sometimes archives with foreign language filenames may not extract or give an error message. I just rename them in English and they open/extract perfectly.
