Developer’s Description

Show the file path if the file has a path more than 200 character long.

The main purpose of this tool is to list the files and paths on network (LAN) or locally which have file path more than 200 characters long. More than 220 chars file path may cause hangs or reaching problems with various software, 255 is the limit for most applications. With an strict option this value is given as 200. So, the files that has longer than 200 path chars are to be listed as in the redline.

Thus, it may be easier to see the folders has to be changed as path length. Can perform a search locally or with network support, can save the search directory into .ini file in the same folder of application, can save the list that is search result into db file in the same folder of application, and can load to view the existing list. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Summary
I was not able to see the full file name, nor save or export the list. I got a list of 27 files with long file names but the display window was not expandable, the file names did not display fully within the window, I could not identify which 5 were not copying (to my back-up), and I could not copy the list. Essentially it was only a partial solution. How stupid.

interface could be much better, it only lists file paths but doesn´t allow for reaniming or anything else.
Summary
it worked for me since I was syncing with SyncToy without knowing a bunch of files were excluded from the sync process because their file path was too long for XP...

Pros
Easy to install, did what I needed, output to flat file was easily loaded into excel for further analysis.
Cons
Didn't create shortcut in start menu/programs, but no big deal.
Summary
If you need to determine where the directory path+file name exceeds 255 characters, this is the easiest way to accomplish that.
