Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 is a free Internet security program for scanning and defending your computer against malicious files and/or hackers.

A quick scan only takes a couple minutes. For a full scan, which scans all of your drives, it can take from an hour and a half to 2 hours to complete. On average, it scans 93 files per second. You do need to use the full scan every once in a while, though, because it picks up on threats that the quick scan will often miss. We take care not to download anything questionable, but threats are not completely unavoidable. That's why this antivirus software also has Defense and Anti-Hacker functions in order to help prevent or catch security risks online and on your computer. Utilities can also scan and fix system vulnerabilities, which can help with the speed and quality of your computer use. Settings allow you to customize the antivirus software to your needs as well, and add trusted files to be overlooked during scans. Kingsoft also has a feedback page so you can personally help in improving any bugs that might arise while using it.

Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 was easy and simple to download. There wasn't anything an average computer user would have had difficulties with during the download process. We are satisfied with how it works and how easy it was to set up.

Pros
How would I know?
Cons
ALL accounts on my Windows 10 PC are Administrator accounts. Program refuses to install. Error Message: "You do not run computer with Administrator account." Awesome English too, eh?
Summary
Going back to the Tried & True: Avast!
Good, but one problem.
chrisaustenJuly 22, 2015
Pros
Free, reasonably good.
Cons
See below...
Summary
When I first installed this I liked it, but I soon found what was for me a major problem....it doesn't play well with external usb hard drives. My machine has 3 hard drives, 2 internal, and drive #3 is a Western Digital HD in a external usb dock. The problem was that at each boot-up Kingsoft would prevent the system from seeing drive 3 and the only way to fix it was to unplug the drive and replug it, only then would the system recognize drive 3. But the big problem was that I went into Kingsofts options panel and turned off the usb protection and then rebooted....but even with usb protection turned off, Kingsoft continued to block drive 3, so I have uninstalled Kingsoft and moved on to another anti-virus.
Easier to use than AVG Free.

Pros
Easier to use than AVG Free. Less pop ups for purchase. Very easy to schedule scans.
Cons
Free version doesn't provide the functions of the Premium version.
Summary
Better than AVG Free.
One of the best free AV, at par with most premium AV's.

Cons
Absolutely none.
Summary

Batchoy2July 27, 2014
Pros
Very attractive UI.
Cons
After uninstalling 360 Internet Security, I decided to install Kingsoft Antivirus 2012. Based on reviews here, this is a promising antivirus freeware. However, upon installation and quick scan, my laptop experience BSOD. I have to restore my previous settings and downloaded Kingsoft 2012 again. Same bad results. I just installed another AV. Then I scanned my laptop using Malwarebytes Free. It found a lot of trojans!
Summary
Better think twice if you wish to use this freeware.
fast , small , fine detection rate , works on XP and 7

Failed to initialize desktop in Vista & Win7 pro 32bit!
frankie8acresFebruary 21, 2014
Pros
Love all the neat features, USB stick protect, FAST. Got it to work great on 1 computer.
Cons
Failed to allow my Vista computer and another Win7 home prem. to boot up into my desktop.
Summary
I had to reinstall windows HUGE task. NOT until it did it a 2nd time did I realize it was Kingsoft AV. as the culprit. Pretty upsetting and disappointing to say the least. Tried to look for a place to contact them to give FB and nothing to be found, NOT good. If you have any doubts go with Panda, cloud, used it a lot works good, with no issues to speak of. I hope Kingsoft fixes this issue.

Updated on Apr 11, 2014
I continued to give this AV a chance and LIKE IT, but now I install it in SAFE MODE, seems to help with any initial issues like mentioned it my above review! TOO, I hope Kingsoft reads this cause I can't give FB any other way! IN windows 8 Kingsoft worked, AFTER 8.1, Boundary DEFENSE and SYSTEM defense won't STAY enabled!!! (this happened so far on 2 different NEW systems) AND the ICON stays red. I tried to REPAIR within, BUT came back with an error code, something like ox2.... SO can't get software to work in 8.1...TOO ON 4-7-2014 MS came out with a MAJOR UPDATE to 8.1....called 8.1 UPDATE (KB2919355) Maybe this update from MS will fix something and in turn will allow Kingsoft to work properly!
The best antivirus in my experience.

Pros
* Detects viruses when popular AV's like McCafee, AVG or avast couldn't find one. * Excellent interface. * Variety of safety procedures. * Detects hacking attacks and stops them too. * Uses very less resources and doesn't slow down the system. * Windows updates or vulnerabilities is detected and necessary action is taken.
Cons
Using it since a couple of years, no prblems yet.
Summary
Highly recommended over the pricey sheeeeet recommended nowadays by software sites. Its free and its a master at its work. Simply spellbinding!!!!!
Stopped more virus' in one year than Avast,AVG,etc ever
batsdude1December 26, 2013
Pros
It works Period. You can carry on about bells and whistles but brass tacks are it stops virus' dead and THAT is ALL that matters! Over 20 years I've tried about a doze others ad have gotten hit every time. Avast even showed me a virus on it's monitoring graph as active but the scan said clean. Tossed it ad tried this which stopped the infection first scan. I've never looked elsewhere since. I don't need to.
Cons
Can't figure out why it's still called 2012. Stuff like that keeps me up at night.
Summary
If it weren't free I'd recommend buying it. Nothing's gotten past it yet. 34 in the ratings??!! LOL. Just shows what payola can do.
Outstanding malware and virus protection
jmartinez_431December 25, 2013
Pros
- Highly recommend this system combo antivirus and malware scanner. - Ultra fast scanning engine, offering real-time protection. - Anti-hacker defense system, checks your operating system for updates and patches. - Web defense and scans UBS/flash drive for infections. r possibly. (It found some trojan infections and removed them that Iobit Malware Fighter and Malwarebytes missed! This one is a keeper!
Cons
None that I can think of.
