KeePass Password Safe Portable securely stores all of your account log-ins, so you don't have to worry about forgetting them. Because just about every website requires you to create an account, it's almost impossible to remember all of your log-ins. But since you don't want to write them all down where anyone could find them, it's important to have software like this to help you keep them accessible but private.

Pros

Portability: What makes KeePass Password Safe Portable stand out is portability. This means you can enter all of your account information once, and then take it with you wherever you go on a USB stick or other external device. And because you create a Master Password for the app, your information won't be accessible to anyone else, even if you lose your USB.

Password Generator: In addition to storing your passwords, this app can also help you create new ones that are more secure than those you'd come up with on your own. The Password Generator tool will create individual or lists of passwords that conform to whatever specifications you choose. You can decide which types of characters will be included in the passwords and how long they will be, and the app does the rest.

Cons

No auto-fill: This program doesn't have the ability to auto-fill website log-in forms. Instead, you have to either copy and paste information from the app to the forms, or drag and drop it in.

Bottom Line

KeePass Password Safe is a good tool for storing and retrieving your log-in information for even your most sensitive accounts. It only requires you to remember your Master Password to access it, and the Password Generator will help ensure your individual passwords are more secure than ever.

Developer's Description

KeePass is free, open source, light-weight and easy-to-use password manager, which helps you manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key file. So you only have to remember one single master password or select the key file to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).
A database consists of only one file that can be transferred from one computer to another easily. The program supports password groups, in which you can sort your passwords into.
You can drag-n-drop passwords into almost any other window. The auto-type feature types your login information into other windows automatically (just press a hot key). Fast copying passwords or user names to the clipboard is possible by just double-clicking on the specific field in the password list.
KeePass can import data from various file formats. The password list can be exported to various formats, including TXT, HTML, XML and CSV files. The password list can of course also be printed (complete database or only current view).
Searching and sorting the password database is possible.
KeePass ships with a strong random password generator (you can define the possible output characters, length, patterns, rules and restrictions).
The program is available in over 40 languages. It has a plugin framework; plugins provide additional functionality like backup features, network features, integration with other applications, etc.; they are available from the KeePass website.
