Emulate virtual serial COM port and redirect data to any IP device in a network.
The virtual serial port driver for Windows is a software tool, which adds a virtual COM port to the system as for example COM5 and all the data from this port are re-directed over the Ethernet to defined IP device. HW VSP is a free unlimited driver, it works with any TCP/IP device, supports TCP server as well as TCP Client mode. Standard remote port control with using of NVT & RFC2217 is supported.
I get BSOD on my Windows 7 PC, somewhat randomly, but all too frequently, to make this program usable. When I use a couple of USB to RS232 cables with a NULL modem adapter between them (to do what your product is supposed to be able to do) my programs that use the loopback COM ports work fine and I no longer get the blue screen of death.
Good for what it says it is for

Pros
It can be set to start at boot up and configure it automatically before any program accesses database.
Cons
Nothing particular.
Summary
Cannot be used for dialup networking

Summary
I guess this product is not designed for this but I was hoping it would work. I tried using HW Virtual Serial Port 2.1.6 with Windows 2000 DialUp networking through a pool of modems controlled by a Cisco AS2511-RJ, and although I did manage to connect to the remote network a few times, and even once started up a Terminal Services session, it kept on crashing with memory access violations.
