• Could not have booted Windows 7 without it!

  Pros

  I was able to back up all my data with the demo (free) ebcd version. I was able to find my backup BCD file and move it to BCD with this (paid) version, which I would not have been able to do otherwise. Instructions are pretty clear but somewhat complicated -- took me about 6 hours (I didn't know what I was doing at first) to finally get it to boot but it was definitely worth it!

  Cons

  No support. When you follow instructions and the output is different from what the user guide says, there is no support to help you.

  Summary

  Allows you to access the file system and figure out what is wrong with the BCD file. Totally worth the cost. If I hadn't bought the ebcd I would have had to re-install Windows!!

  Pros

  None! The free version on USB booted the machine, and allowed me to off load files. However, even after verifying the contents of the cd I burned, it hangs.

  Cons

  It doesn't work, and there is no support to speak of, or to, for that matter! I have submitted an online question, as well as emailed some one.

  Summary

  Use the free one to get a sense of what is going on, inside your hard drive. Use the free one to back up data. Otherwise, you are likely just pissing money down the drain!

  Pros

  Recover data without paying out hundreds to repair guys.

  Cons

  Had to download ISO program for creating boot disk. Instructions were somewhat involved.

  Summary

  Using it now and I love it!
