Even though we appreciate this screensaver s polished design and pleasing performance, a couple of issues somewhat temper our enthusiasm. The program takes you to the bottom of the ocean, where several dolphins swim among the reefs and plants. The camera follows the dolphins as they swim, but it occasionally switches to show you the entire scene. Dolphins 3DScreensaver features good graphics, and both the dolphins movements and sound strike us as quite realistic. On the downside, the program s feature set is small; the most notable customization option is the ability to change the frame rate to optimize performance different PCs. However, even when we moved the slider to its lowest setting, the screensaver failed to load on a couple of older machines. It s also a shame the very large nag screen appears within a few moments of launch and won t go away until you restart it. In spite of its flaws, fans of marine animals might find this application worth looking at, especially since it lacks the pesky adware contained in many other screensavers.
