Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

For some computer users, a Sharpie pen is good enough to label a newly burned music or photo CD. But for those who want a little flair, label-making programs are the way to go. Unfortunately, this download falls well short of rivals in that relatively simple task. Unlike tools that create their own design environment, CD and DVD Label Maker is essentially a set of Microsoft Word templates and functions inside the word processor. Users can enter descriptions, names, and titles into the templates, but can't change background images or colors. No advanced design features, necessary for creating a label or jewel-case cover easily from scratch, are provided. The software will work for anyone who wants rudimentary labels, but we would advise computer users seeking more artistic flexibility to look elsewhere.
