Argus keeps track of most health and fitness aspects in your life: steps taken, calories burned, food and water consumed, and hours of sleep. The app goes a step further by integrating with Facebook, so your friends can encourage you to reach your daily goals.
Modern interface and features: Argus features a light and minimalistic interface. Through an easy-to-navigate screen you can link the app to health accessories like motion trackers, bluetooth heart monitors, Wi-Fi scales, and others.
Quick ways to check your daily progress: In the app's settings you'll be able to place your taken or remaining steps as a live badge on the home screen that updates as you move throughout the day. Alternatively, the app can push a silent notification alerting you of your daily progress whenever you unlock your phone.
Personal coaching: Through a $50/month subscription you can get a health professional to look over your physical activity and food intake and offer advice on achieving your end goal more easily. Communication with the coach is done either through the app's commenting system or via a VOIP app like Skype or FaceTime.
Limited goal setting: When it comes to setting your daily goals for steps, sleep, and hydration, the app allows a set number of values that are chosen through a slider. Once you start achieving the top goals for steps, you are no longer able to push yourself by setting a higher goal -- the cap is set at 12K.
Argus manages to provide a good overall solution for people who are beginning their fitness journey. However, if you're a professional athlete or sports enthusiast, you may be turned off by the app's emphasis on the social aspect, as well as the limits to setting daily goals.
