The disconnect between the leprechaun animation and the background animation creates an effect similar to those Magic Carpet Ride videos you can create at carnivals and tourist traps. Outstanding music sets this screensaver apart, though. It's a tropical-surfing soundtrack on a high-quality MP3 file, but you'll also find an option for using your own tunes. The music volume can be turned down or disabled entirely via a slider, but the dedicated button for muting the audio didn't work in our tests.

For a tropical twist on your St. Patrick's Day celebrations, you can try 3D Shamrock Surfing Leprechaun. A bearded gnome-like leprechaun rides his shamrock board over a swooping backdrop of tropical islands.

Still, we did appreciate the rest of the features, including the ability to tweak the brightness, the RGB color levels, and the type of objects that fall from the sky. The enticing background animation and sweet music may extend surf fans' enjoyment of 3D Shamrock Surfing Leprechaun beyond St. Patrick's Day.
