Gets rid of the burden of accounts in the simplest of ways and is ideal for a tiny business. Good price too. Just get rid of that awful icon that looks terrible in the OS 10.4 dock!

I am a sole trading consultant operating in the UK with over a turnover in excess of $500,000. I had looked everywhere for a neat, easy to use book-keeping program and this is definatly it. The fact that it is customisable for almost every occastion and situation (including international usage) is what makes it such a hit with me. My only wish was a way of associating sales tax to income and have the program calculate how much tax I have to pay. I emailed the developer who was great at corresponding with me and taking my wishes on board for potential future development. If you are looking for something simple that is not bloated with features and does the job. THIS IS IT!

Before this I used Quickbooks and HATED it (this coming from a professional bookkeeper, I specialized in Peachtree Bookkeeping for large companies). Of course my new small business didn't need those bells and whistles. At the time Quickbooks & MYOB were my only Mac options. On both systems you had to go through 3 steps to do one thing. Just poorly designed. I tried both and went with Quickbooks. 6 months later I started looking for another option out of pure frustration. I found Tinybooks and never looked back. I am a small internet based business with a lot of odd accounts due to foreign sales and commissions. This program handles everything for me and more in a very simple and straight forward manner. It isn't complicated. You dont have to be a bookkeeper to understand and use it. You have an income you enter it in, you pay an expense enter it in. I can see at a glance my expenses, income, net income etc... for any given time. My first year I used the chart of accounts that came with it and did my own taxes from the figures. This last year I am a lot bigger so I created my own chart of accounts and handed the print outs to my accountant. Still it is so very easy and does everything I need and then some. Still haven't had to hire a bookkeeper. If I had stayed with Quickbooks I think I would have had to just due to the time involved in using that program. It is a steal at $49. So before posting negative feedback the least you could do is try it. That is just plain wrong. It isn't fancy but who needs fancy. I needed simple and affordable, Tinybooks delivers that. Yes Ken is always sending updates everytime he fixes something or adds a function. I applaud him for that. I don't have to wait 2 years for a major upgrade. It shows he is dedicated to improving this software and he does a great job at that and at supporting it. Kudos Ken!

I agree with User 44. Ken is great to deal with and should have support from TinyBook users, not derision from non-users. TinyBooks itself is as advertised. Simple for small businesses. it works and cost less than more elaborate programs whose features are not needed by many people. I started with Ken's simple games some years ago, and will try almost anything he writes.
Endorse it.

I am a relatively new Mac user (switched from PC a little more than a year ago) and was looking for a simple accounting program to replace the one I used on my PC. The Quick Books software that came included on my Powerbook was way too complicated and elaborate and not very user friendly. After searching around the web I came across Tinybooks and tried out the free-use version. I found it easy to use and perfect for my needs. I then ordered it and have been using it with great satisfaction ever since. I am a sole proprieter of a small business and Tinybooks is perfect for my needs. It is easy to use and works without a hitch. Perhaps the best part about Tinybooks is its creator. Ken is always available to answer questions on a moment's notice. He has guided me during intial set-up and can always be counted on to reply immediately to any questions. Best of all, he's always receptive to any user suggestions for improving the program and has frequently incorporated these into upgrades. Now that's service! Try asking Quicken to add a feature to their software. If you are a small business owner and need an easy, uncomplicated and reliable accounting program, this is perfect.
