      "Nice"

This is a very simple to install and use app. Along the lines of SuperDuper - simple and bullet proof.

Read the FAQ on Shirtpocket's discussion page if you're using a firewall and get a spinning ball -- simple fix.

If you want to remotely control iTunes, this is the best I've seen. I've used a few programs on a Palm and a Windows Mobile cell phone and both were buggy and frustrating to install and use. After two days of using netTunes, its seamless, responds quickly and completely stable.

Good, the Squeezebox goes in the trash where it should have gone years ago.

      "DO not download this product"

This is the worst shareware I have ever tried, if you do not purchase the software it will screw up your connection with Airport Express. Do not download unless you plan to buy. The default shuts off your connection every 30 minutes (so it says) it now turns off my connection every 5 minutes. I had to uninstall and then reboot (believe it or not) for my itunes to work again with my airport express.

      Very angry at this developer.

      "Very Handy"

Ingenious little solution to controlling an iTunes on one computer via any other computer on the network. I've been using it for two years, and it really works well for me. My setup is an iMac that holds the music library, which I control, via airport, from my laptop across the room. I use it all the time, and it's been steady and reliable for me. Developer replies to inquires, including tips to configure the firewall settings to make it work (an issue that wasn't covered well in the documentation).

I like it. It works for me. Playing off a pismo G3 powerbook MP3 server to Aiport Espress. I control it from all 4 house computers - no problems.

      "Buggy with Desktop Manager"

Doesn't seem to play well with virtual desktops. iTunes needs to be the frontmost application in a active desktop window, this gets weird for me because i have 2 displays on the server. Switching desktops causes the netTunes server crash everytime. Overall not very stable on 10.4.1 at all. Lower the price or update!!!

"Brilliant piece of software, small bugs"

      March 28, 2005   |   By Christian_Franz_653

      Version: netTunes 2.1.1(999)

      Summary

Very ingenious! I always wanted to remotely control iTunes running on my stereo's Mac mini (which serves up our music, both for SLIMP3 and AirTunes). I now can control it from everywhere in the house - from my workdesk, or my Laptop on the terasse (yeah, we have an outside airport extreme installation).

netTunes provides a very nice 'vnc-like' updating control interface showing you the 'real' iTunes that is controlled remotely. A small issue is that when a screen saver is active, you will initially see this screensaver instead of the iTunes interface.

The manual could be a bit more elaborate when using the software with a firewall, as the software goes into the 'spinning pizza of death' when the server's port (on the server) is blocked. OK, actually, the manual could be a little bit more elaborate, period.

Other than that it runs very nicely. I recommend it for everone with more than one Mac, and a central music server based (partly) on iTunes.

Very easy to set up and Works perfect from the start with Panther 10.3.4 and iTunes 4.5 on a Dual 1.25 G4 and older Lombard G3 PowerBook. All shareware should be this good. Best iTunes Remote.

"Hilarious method but it works, and fast!"

      August 27, 2003   |   By Artimus T. Dwibbs

      Version: netTunes 2.0(867)

      Summary

I tried iHam on iRye, and it failed to work as quickly as this one. And do you know why? because this takes a PICTURE of the itunes window (and anything in front of it, which means it's VERY foreground on the server.. but since you're controlling it remotely, it probably's ok for 99.9% of people). So it takes this Jpeg (which you can set the quality for to speed things up), sends it to your client seemlessly, and clicks where you click like in timbuktu pro!

Very clever usage of iTunes built in speediness.. I doubt it could get faster than this unless apple integrated this into iTunes itself.
