iSpy uses your webcams and microphones to detect and record movement or sound and provides security, surveillance, monitoring and alerting services. You can Control cameras with PTZ, one-click or auto upload to YouTube, auto FTP to any servers, Listen to and monitor audio live over the network, connect and monitor as many cameras and microphones as you like, import and export object lists to share with colleagues, connect multiple computers in a group and manage over the web.
iSpy is free but remote access and email alerts require a web services subscription.
What's new in this version: Version 5.0.8 has added pager to media panel, selection tool to media panel, and a feature set controller to settings.

It's simple with CNET's Download Installer to try iSpy for yourself. If you don't want a Blekko toolbar for your browser you're still good peep. It's also super easy to become a CNET member: apparently any number of times. Join In and take DeveloperInABox down.
Cons
How many people work at the iSpy office? I find it sheerly oddsome that all but 3 of the preceding reviewers could not come up with a single con-like suggestion to help iSpy become better than whatever it is. No one asked for fancy file format support, or larger easy-to-read menu fonts, or better Firefox integration, or anything but a surreal glow. Odd? Hmm,

Easy to get started this is my 1st time messing with a webcam (Haven't really needed one)

Just now finding the time to play with it and trying to get a cam on another comp. here in the house is tricky for the 1st timer.

There are a lot of programmes out there that are incredibly useful, however in their usefulness and practicality, they forget to include anything fun. This tool, however, can be used just as easily for both.

Summary
The concept overall allows for great functionality - security, monitoring and surveillance are of the utmost importance in today's society, and this lets you do that. You can then share with others and make it incredibly useful, especially with the online management aspect. But on the flipside it also has a lot of fun that goes with it. The idea behind it allows you to play around with your webcam, making it fun as well as useful.

This is pretty good, it has many different features that you can use in order to customise it for yourself, giving it a somewhat individual experience for each person. The fact it updates so frequently is also a really good thing

None really, it does exactly what it says, and if there is anything more you want from it, it is likely to be in an update soon

Overall is really good, it is really useful and personal, whilst the frequent updates make it something that can be constantly improved, meaning it has scope and capacity to only get better in the long run, especially through user feedback

I must say I'm impressed with this. Believe me I've tried a lot of online products, and more often than not I am disappointed. Which is fair enough with for products, but even paid ones. This was great though: a free product which surpasses paid ones
