With fre:ac you easily rip your audio CDs to MP3 or WMA files. Files can be automatically tagged to include artist and title information obtained from the CDDB/freedb online CD database. What's new in this version: Version 1.0.19 fixes several bugs and includes an updated Ogg Vorbis encoder as well as translation updates.

"Two Great Functions For The Price Of FREE"
Version: fre:ac 1.0.19
Pros
Encodes audio files from the PC AND straight from the CD in the disc drive, effectively making it a converter and a ripper. Encodes on-the-fly, without having to rip from the CD before conversion can begin. An unexpectedly high amount of customization options (enough to satisfy the audiophile, while probably a little overwhelming for the audionoob).
Cons
None worth mentioning.
Summary
I've had my hand with a number of audio rippers and converters. This just beats the pants off of all of them. I deeply care about music (PARTICULARLY my music) and this program is another big hit on my ultimate freebie list. I love the fact that this is still in version 1 and am hoping that it just gets better with time.

"used as an audio converter"
Version: fre:ac 1.0.19
Pros
Did a great job of converting to mp3
Cons
no instructions for using as a converter, but I bumbled around and figured it out
Summary
Just to save time for anyone who is more of a novice like me:
To convert, just drag your files to the main window. Below the window, make sure your desired conversion is to the right of "selected encoder" Then click on the green arrow on the tool bar (start the encoding process shows when you hover over it). To chose another end result, use the down arrow menu. -

None what I've found.
Summary
I am basically converting all CD's to MP3. And this program does the trick. The lookup feature is the best.
