Keep track and manage expenses, saved passwords, and reminders.
esyPlanner allows you to manage your notes and calendar, register expenses, save your passwords, and write your daily diary. It organizes notes and contacts, give warnings and notifications for reminders and events. The search function allows you to find notes, events, and diary notes. Pros
The UI at first looks 'busy', and there's a learning curve of 17 minutes (LOL!) before figuring it out. Almost everything can be hidden with the F-keys on a keyboard, to give a relative clean workspace.
It does have a PDF manual (which applies to an earlier version), but even without reading that anybody will figure out how the software works.
Can set different alarms to go of when a task must be done.
It is really a very easy-to-understand-and-use program.
Major pluspoint for me: Very light on pc's resources.
Can minimize to tray to start up quickly.
Easy to customize colors, which panels should show, etc.
Cons
When attempting to check for updates it kept on failing. Then I went looking for EsyPlanner's website... and it appears they're out of business. :(
So no longer updated, it seems. But the software itself will be good for another 3 or 4 years I guess, and as far as I understand it works on Windows 8 as well.
Summary
I downloaded this software in November 2012, then used it for around 2 months. But because I'm also using an ordinary 'offline' old-school diary (you know, those thing that is made of paper that you need a device with ink in to write on) I started neglecting using EsyPlanner and actually forgot about it.
A week ago (end of July 2013) I started looking around again for software that is light on RAM, where I can make notes, as well as have a calendar-function to see what to do when. I downloaded and test CintaNotes, AllMyNotesWell, and a few others not even worth testing, and I also 'discovered' OneNote from Microsoft on my laptop!
The three mentioned are all pretty good, but then I remembered about EsyPlanner, opened it like a long lost friend, and when comparing the four... EsyPlanner wins hands-down.
Taking notes and scribbling brainwaves down is great with all these programs, but unlike EsyPlanner not all of them have built-in calendars too. Some, like MS Outlook's and Thunderbird's planners/diaries/calendars is a no-no for me simply because Outlook and T-bird takes time to start up and draw way too much resources compared to EsyPlanner.
What is thus great about EsyPlanner is that I can write random notes down, then quickly minimize to tray and continue with what I was busy with, and later when I'm planning my day, week or month or year it is easy to look at those random notes and decide on which date or time you want to do/attend to them.
I can wholeheartedly recommend that you download this free software and compare it yourself with any other, I'm quite confident you'll agree that the guy who developed it is a genius.
It is a real tragedy that he 'disappeared from the scene', so you should download this software before it isn't available for download anymore. I hope I can one day get hold of the developer to see what other software he also made.
This is the kind of software that I will tell me grand kids about in 2040, and I'll brag that there were some pretty excellent software back in 2013 already. :)
Let me know what your opinion is.
