    "Crap can never be good"

    January 14, 2009  |   By BadisNeverGood

    Version: eREAD 6

    Pros

    It can be installed
It is claimed to support their stk and stkx format
$And they claimed that it can be used to read books
It only tres to mess up with IE.

    Cons

Not tons, but piles of them.

    Summary

    1. The scotty keeps detect new add on to IE during installation.
    2. Firewall requires internet traffic for it during installation.
    3. During startup, more internet activity. Interface is crowd with various bars that we normally see in some software called "adware".
    4. Try to open a stk, wrong format, tried to open a stkx sample, need to upgrade to vip account with some subscription fee
    5. When trying to close it, it hides into system tray. After uninstall it, some folder startup menu. Not sure if some dll is left in some system folder. But IE is definitely loaded with their plugins.
    6. Even though the software is "uninstalled" for an hour, scotty still report that an C:\Program Files\eREAD\eREAD\EasyRead.dll trying to add to IE, no hard to guess what it is used for.

    Summery:
Looks more likely an advertisement based on software of their services. The main function not working on my sample, And need fees to subscribe account major feature.
Just can not give 0 star.
