Keeping track of several e-mail accounts can be annoying. Thankfully, ePrompter's bare-bones yet effective approach helps you solve this hectic problem. Utilizing an uncluttered interface and stone-simple setup, ePrompter does one thing and does it well. You can set the application to check up to 16 password-protected e-mail accounts, including Hotmail and AOL. Notification consists of a flag in your system tray--color coded for each different e-mail account--and a choice of five screensaver options. When you get a new message, you simply click the icon and start reading. Composing a new e-mail or responding is just as easy. Though it's not jam-packed with features, we have no problem recomending ePrompter to anyone with multiple e-mail accountsPublisher's description
(From Tiburon Technology ):ePrompter automatically and simultaneously checks and retrieves your e-mail messages from up to 16 password-protected e-mail accounts, such as AIM, AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, Yahoo Beta, Gmail, POP3, Earthlink, Excite, Juno, Email.com, Lycos, Mail.com, Mindspring, MSN, MyWay, Netscape, Rediffmail, SBC Yahoo and hundreds of other e-mail domains.
ePrompter not only lets you compose, forward, and reply to your retrieved messages, but also gives you the ability to delete unwanted spam or suspicious-looking mail without having to launch your e-mail program or having to go to your Web mail's site. And, importantly, when ePrompter retrieves messages, it leaves the original messages on your various email accounts' servers.
ePrompter's notification features include a unique rotating tray icon and a choice of five screensavers that let you know at a glance the number of new messages in each account, as well as audio alerts for new messages. Version 2.0 employs auto-upgrades so that regardless of the version of ePrompter you download from CNET, it will be automatically updated to the most recent version of ePrompter after one use of the program.

Version: ePrompter 2.0
Pros: It's freeware!
Cons: This email checker has had it's day, the preset email servers are often out of date, I have myself been asking for lycos UK to be added to it's list of servers for around 4 years to no availability.
When checking yahoo mail, if you ask it to delete from incoming it will often recheck mail and mark them all as unread??
I am fed up to the back teeth with this program now.
Say's it works with aim..it does not, many of the email suppliers it says it will check it doesn't.
My best way of checking email and ridding spam is mailwasher...it's brilliant.

Version: ePrompter 2.0
Pros: This program is good for notifying you that you have email in one of your accounts and allowing you to quickly delete messages you know you don't want. However, it is VERY bare bones. It does stay synched with Gmail much better than Outlook, but has limited features.
Cons: Doesn't work with HTML format, constantly cuts off the end of the message so you can only read the first line, doesn't work with attachments. I use it to notify me when I have email and I can quickly delete or mark as read most messages. When I really need to read an email or download an attachment, I still have to sign into my account. Also, it DOES NOT work with Microsoft Exchange Servers like Outlook does.

Version: ePrompter 2.0
"It's Okay, with reservations"
Pros: If it worked well for me, it would put all of my various email addresses in one spot, but
Cons: It would not retrieve my Hotmail account. It hasn't any option for iMap. So, it isn't good for me. I will have to uninstall it.
