• BEWARE! VERY INTRUSIVE!

  So Annoying I never got to the point of trying it. Frankly I don't care WHAT it can do!

  Plasters all kinds of Horrible Shortcuts On YOUR desktop that are near IMPOSSIBLE to remove! Permission is to place A, GET THAT? >>>A<<< means a Single shortcut ZIPDUMMIES! Heres a few: Join ZIPGENIUS! what?!! and Follow ZIPGENIUS on Twitter! PWAHAHAHA! also Follow ZIPGENIUS on Google! Arghh... REVO uninstalled it cya

  This salesware is so annoying that I joined CNET just to comment. And don't tell me you get what you pay for. This is a "thing" that explodes crap all over your computer without your permission. Just because your not paying someone doesn't give them license to do rude & abusive things. Found it on CNET so I cant trust CNET either goodbye for good.

  It is free. Unless you consider your time and efforts and those you work with to be of some value. In that case it is not even free.

  Unreliable. Slow, not to encrypt ... after all, the author didn't write that piece ... the GUI is sloowww. I ran this program on several machines with different processors an OSes. It's behavior was unpredictable. Mostly it crashed a lot Windows 7, XP SP3, it didn't matter. It also doesn't seem to uniformly respect the fact that users don't want to be in an administrator account to run it. Sometimes it would simply freeze attempting to open a file it created. Other times, even the errors returned navigating its own menu structure were unpredictable. During the install one gets to opt out of desktop icons. Forget it. When done not only the desktop but the start menu are littered with half a dozen social networking icons. Gee thanks! I really, really can't wait to get your Tweets!

  I'd rather pay a couple bucks to get something that actually works. Possibly this is a student project. Using it is like death by a thousand cuts.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Feb 6, 2012<p/>@RR1K, while one can do these things with this utility, one must ask: 'So what?' One can do these things with every one of over a dozen other zip utilities. Utilities that actually work reliably, are truly simple to use, and are not a cluttered pile of nonsense.

  Pros

  I used it to unzip some files in .rar format. That worked. It was free. It put a shortcut on the desktop to "like" the product on twitter and facebook. Easily removed. For a free product that works I think that is fair play.

  I haven't noticed any significant problems.

  I've no idea why but the two occasions I've downloaded this program I've also triggered an Incredimail download (and if you've had Incredimail on your PC you'll know what a nightmare it is). I can only assume that Incredimail is being bundled with this program. Cannot recommend it for that reason as both times it's been a complete nightmare trying to get Incredimail off of my PC.

  I used this app on xp and it was good. I now have windows 7 and so far its working its a little bit harder to use but so far its unzipped 4 large files without any problems.
