ZipGenius has all the functions of a typical compression utility plus a ton of extra features. It not only zips and unzips but also offers support for 21 compression and encoding and decoding formats, ZIP encryption and decryption, Pocket PC support via ActiveSync, drag-and-drop support, integration in the Windows shell, the ability to send archives via e-mail, and Web publishing of archives and files via FTP and TWAIN devices. The Standard Edition doesn't include FTPGenius (the FTP client). You can download it as an add-on, or you can get it in the Suite Edition package.

Version: ZipGenius Standard Edition 6.3.1.2590

"Lightweight, no-frills ZIP utility"

Pros: Extrememly easy to use, tiny footprint, no install/uninstall issues, handles the vast majority of archive filetypes.

Cons: None to speak of.

Summary: Zip Genius is the perfect quick-fix solution for compression and decompression of ZIP and virtually all other archive filetypes. Its simple interface is a blessing to those unfamiliar with compression utilities in general. The small footprint and ease of installation/uninstall is a pleasant surprise. While it doesn't offer the full gamut of archiving features as its "for-pay" cousins, it does allow you to perform all of the basic tasks. Best of all, it's FREE.

"The Only Compression Tool You'll Need"

Pros: Works with most file formats.
2 modes - standard and expert mode.
Integrates with Windows shell commands.

Cons: I've found a few glitches when using 7zip files from a shell command.

Summary: The only compression program that I use - quite simply because it works with every file type that I've come across so far.

Very fast when compressing or decompressing.
