Complete piece of crap.... i dont even want my $180 back anymore... i hope they go broke!!! Zero costumer support. Im going to use newstand from now on... at least Apple has costumer service. -
"The best way to enjoy magazines. LOVE IT!!!"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
Largest newsstand, great quality, amazing interface, very interactive, portable, cheap, doesn't crash.
Cons
You can not enjoy it as much as the iPad version.
Summary
I completely recommend it. All the bugs have been solved. Very easy to use and great user experience. Zinio has transform the way I read magazines.
Especially incredible on iPad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pvHtIssfFc&context=C3bd7d79ADOEgsToPDskKoBmL50NnqigujX_NvHcA1 -
"Keeps crashing"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
Magazines look just like they do in print. Navigation and reading interface is pretty good.
Cons
Crashes on a regular basis, and worst of all, corrupts itself when it does. Zinio's FAQ recommends removing Zinio and Adobe Air files from the Library/Application Support directory, which is normally a hidden directory, prior to re-installing. Good thing I'm a developer. I can't imagine most people going through this.
Summary
Zinio needs to re-write this application, at least the Mac version.

"A huge piece of crap"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
None, nada, nil, zilch... There! You have your ten characters!
Cons
In Win 7 Enterprise, version 4 is doesn't recognize my old magazines. It starts loading and hangs ALWAYS. No way to read or download new content.
Summary
I wish they go broke...

"Frustrating!"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
It didn't crash
Cons
It's very frustrating to read, zoom, navigate
Makes me want to go back to paper
You cannot get an overview of your library, very difficult to find an old magazine
Very slow and strange functionalitySummary
I hope a new version will be out soon. Their choice to use the flash platform was probably not a good one.
I guess the designers never read digital magazines. -
"Lousy Lousy Lousy"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
NONE-Good Concept Lousy execution and software
Cons
Changed my subscription to save having paper all over the place..software corrupts in no time at all...I use huge number of apps on PC and Mac...this is the worst!!!!
Summary
Avoid at any cost.

"It was usable in previous incarnations."
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
Version 4 is a buggy, unreliable, failure-prone piece of crud. I have to delete the Adobe Air support file and redownload subscribed magazines to make it functional on every use, otherwise a black blank screen.
Cons
Now I have experienced some 6 months of excuses and a weeks-long system server failure back in March (during which subscribers had no access to already downloaded magazines. Version 4 only works offline on my iphone, not my imac or macbook pro.
Summary
A piece of crap software, from a company that will not survive in this market if they do not get it right. Fully paid subscribers to digital magazines should not be forced by Zino to be beta testers of their software. Pity that I could not give it a zero rating, it does not deserve a grade of one star. I am paying over $20 a month for various magazine subscriptions which I can no longer easily access unless I am online. As a expat working in the developing world, where high speed online access is not always a given, this piece of failure-prone software has destroyed the main reason why I signed up for digital subscriptions using Zinio (ongoing offline access to legally downloaded copies of current magazines). Reading things like Science Illustrated is a little frustrating on an iphone.

"ZINIO 4 - Absolute crap!"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
If you wanna waste your time then go ahead and install it.
Cons
Bring back Zinio 3
Summary
Uninstall, reinstall, blank screen and no menu options except QUIT.
Don't waste your time installing this useless piece of crap.
What is Zinio doing about it?
I don't even want to rate it 1 star! but there is no crap button.
So many subscriptions I need to read but have to resort to my iPhone. Thank christ that works! -
"Don't do it."
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
No pros that I could find.
Cons
Nothing but frustration.
Summary
I hate it and don't won't to ever see it again.
-
"Hate it! Reader 3.0 was MUCH better!"
Version: Zinio Reader 4.0
Pros
It's free.
Cons
Unresponsive, program freezes, can't click to zoom, can't click to revert back to original size.
Summary
I hate it! I've dropped my subscription so I don't have to use this POS program ever ever ever again. If I could revert back to 3.0 it would be an upgrade!
