This program backs up and restores your data, but isn't reliable. XMedia Backup's plain interface spans multiple tabs and the process is muddled, so less experienced or casual users will opt to use the step-by-step wizard. The program's profiles store links to the files to back up, and where and when to do so. System administrators and Webmasters will appreciate the ability to store data on a LAN, an FTP server, or a CD or DVD. To make backups without user intervention it's easy to schedule profiles to run every at system start-up or at other regular intervals. XMedia Backup password-protects data, but we had difficulty implementing this feature. That wasn't the only problem; the program didn't always recognize the backup files it generated. Also it often crashed, and many times informational dialog boxes were unreadable. The 30-use trial restriction makes it difficult to test the backup procedures over time. Though Webmasters will like the FTP function, most users will find the program's numerous errors not worth the trouble.Publisher's description
