Despite being yet another one-trick audio pony, WinXMedia AVI/WMV MP4 Converter works with more formats than its name suggests. It not only transforms AVI and WMV files to MPEG-4s, but it also converts MPEG, VOB, and other types of file. In our tests, the program worked fast and produced good output quality. The interface isn't very snazzy, but it is easy to use. You can perform batch conversions, preview source files, and set the frame rate, the audio and video bit rates, and the number of audio channels. We also appreciated a feature that split output files into volumes. We were less thrilled with the demo restriction, which printed a watermark across every video. Nevertheless, WinXMedia AVI/WMV MP4 Converter makes a decent pick if your conversion needs are limited to the MPEG-4 format.

Version: WinXMedia AVI/WMV MP4 Converter 3.15

"Completely free products exist that do a better job"

Pros: Accomplished the task I was trying to do AVI-> MP4

Cons: Full package purchase to remove watermark is too expensive, especially as I only needed a portiion of the full package. Whenever I tried to order just the needed functionality, my only price choice was for the whole package of conversions.

Summary: Don't show single functionalites as options, then give no way to order just that functionality.
