"I really recommend this program !"

Summary
I really recomment this excelent program. I have burned now tens and tens of Video CDs. All my digital photos are on interactive Video CDs with menus. I have transfered succesfully my movies filmed with my PC101 camcorder on SVCDs. It is really like a DVD but I have never spent a cent on DVD burner or DVD medias.
About Jimmy's comment: It is clear that this guy doesn't make the difference between an encoding program and authoring program. You have to use TMPGEnc for transferring your AVIs (DivX and other) into MPEG1/MPEG2. Personnally I have never had any problems, crashes etc. I used it on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. -

Ignore the first reviewer! this isn't an Encoding Program! it's Authoring, so therefor he never really used it in the first place!
VCDEasy is the best program to author SuperVCD and VideoCD's, gives you the ability to put menus and chapters in a very easy way and unlike most programs for Authoring, it creates 100% compatible Discs! -

Sounds like two competitors of VCDEasy posted bad reviews here... Just take a look at the main VideoCD related web sites, they all recommend VCDEasy! I've used this program since v1.1.2 and it's one of the best if you want to make a VCD or SVCD. The program is very powerful, however if you want to make a VCD with a menu, it's not very easy the first time. But there are some great guides for that at the homepage. Once you have learned how the program works, then the rest is easy. I truley recommend this program to whoever wants to make their own picture CDs or (S)VCD.

Summary
You should ignore the other reviewer's comments, since this program is not designed nor does it even indicate that it is for converting AVIs to MPGs. The program will convert an AVI to an MPG in the process of authoring a VCD, but not in any standalone fashion. Get a conversion program if that's what you're after.
But if you want a nice solid program for linking photos or videos, creating menus with enhanced control over navigation, this is the program for you.
I only wish the demo was not so limited! You can only put 2 MPGs into a VCD as it stands. But the price of registering is definitely worth it. -
"This thing crashed my computer"

Summary
I just wanted to convert an avi to mpeg and first of all, that is not at all intuitive to figure out how to do with this program.
So I messed with it awhile, couldn't figure out how to do it, and then suddenly my computer froze.
I had to use System Restore to get my computer back to normal.
This is a p.o.s. program. Don't even use it for free!
