Version: UnixDos 5.1a
Pros: 1) The programs can handle larger input files than competing solutions. For example, I used UnixDOS' "sort" program to sort 45-meg files without problems; none of the competing products that I tried could handle such large files.
2) When I was trying out MS' SFU 3.5, I was unhappy with it because it didn't give me the option to just install the text-processing utilities. I had to install NIS and a lot of other stuff that I didn't want or need. (Not to knock it, I just didn't need it.)
Additionally, after the MS SFU 3.5 install there were several new open ports on my machine and I was trying to minimize the number of ports in use. No additional ports opened up when installing UnixDOS.
3) All of the UnixDOS programs that I have used run quickly and run well. I have never found anything that I would have considered a bug.
Cons: Have yet to have any complaints, issues, or problems. The software is very well done.
