ie8 fix

UnDBX

Publisher's Description

From Machine Cycle:

Tool to extract, recover and undelete e-mail messages from Outlook Express .DBX files. On first run all messages are extracted as individual .EML files. Subsequent runs only update the output directory with new messages, and delete old .EML files that correspond to deleted messages in the .DBX file. Corrupted .DBX files (including files larger than 2GB) can be opened in recovery mode, in order to recover messages and partially undelete deleted messages. The success of recovery depends on the type and level of .DBX file corruption.

What's new in this version: Version 0.20 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Solid solution for Damaged DBX Files"

    April 8, 2011  |   By cmqklein

    Version: UnDBX 0.20

    Pros

Took damaged inbox and extracted 6800+ valid emails. Small executable gets job done without modifying registry.

    Cons

Needs to be run from command line. Takes a long time to run.

    Summary

The software does what it is designed to do. It isn't flashy, it isn't fast, but it is thorough; a lifesaver when needed. The small executable file can be copied into the folder with the DBX file to simplify the command line scripting and erased when completed. Make sure you read the instructions before starting so the script is written correctly. My compliments to the coder.

"Worked perfectly for me. Recovered 12,000 plus emails"

    February 3, 2011  |   By drsasser

    Version: UnDBX 0.20

    Pros

It really is free, no catches. Others will only recover a few emails until you purchase, etc. It even retrieves the attachments. Works beautifully!

    Cons

It's slow. It took 6 hours to recover 12,799 emails in a 2 gigabyte dbx file.

    Summary

    Very pleased!

    "Worked where others failed"

    January 11, 2011  |   By cluedofan

    Version: UnDBX 0.20

    Pros

Recovered 1695 of my emails from a corrupt Outlook Express dbx - whereas another product only recovered 480. It even tried to recover the corrupted emails that caused the problem and put them in a separate folder for you to look at!

    Cons

If you don't know what cmd means then this isn't for you.

    Summary

Excellent at recovering and free. You have to use a command prompt to run it though so not simple for non IT people. Read the README before running it!

"A "must have" for if you mainain an OE email archive"

    August 10, 2010  |   By afgcons

    Version: UnDBX 0.20

    Pros

It is compact, fast and CAN RUN while OE is active. Most other backup tools lose the recently added mails if OE is active.

    Cons

It does a technically challenged task and it does it well. However you should seek help from someone who knows (ask:) "Do you know how to find all of my dbx files".

    Summary

I like it as it is but because I use undbx as a backup tool I added a BAT-file to "Scheduled Tasks". The BAT-file runs:
    1) "NET USE" a folder on the server (desktop) where undbx is to store the extracted emails,
    2) run undbx.hta and redirect undbx's log on %TEMP%\undbx.log.
    3) "NET USE DELETE" the destination folder
Others might appreciate receiving samples of such a BAT file and/or runtime options for the vbs/hta scripts. I'd appreciate if undbx would save the emails it "deletes" by simply moving them to a "DELETED" sub-folder.
