Though we encountered a minor trial restriction with this file compression program, we were very impressed by its features and its performance.
Once you install UltimateZip, you'll be asked if you want to associate it with all supported archives, but a restriction prevents you from selecting the Yes button. You'll have to click No to bypass it. The user interface has a simple, pleasing design. The command buttons are easy to figure out, but multiple Help features are available. There is even a wizard to walk you through the compression process. You can create new archives, open and add files, and extract them. The program also includes an encryption feature. We jumped right in, creating new zip archives, and extracting files from old files. The program worked without a hitch. Whats more, the encryption feature quickly encrypted, and password-protected each file that we selected.
Thirty days is plenty of time to get acquainted with this very capable file compression program. We highly recommend it for all user levels.

Version: UltimateZip 5.0.1
"Still one of the best zip programs for my use."
Pros: My favorite feature is the simple exploring of zipped files before unzipping, and the F1 access to standard help files is reassuring if I get confused or puzzled.
Cons: Took me a few minutes to get used to the user interface. As much my old habits as a Con of the program.
Summary: Plenty of features to explore if you are new to zip files and encryption, as well as a simple way to assure backup of data. As a heavy user of flashdrives, the compression and security for use at client sites is very comforting. A clean effective ... read more >>
