• HUGE Difference in Speed

  Summary

  Before I used TweakMaster, my webpages were taking forever to load (kinda like dialup, even though I have cable!). After I used the Connection Optimization Wizard and rebooted my machine, my webpages were loading the way I'd expect for an Internet connection provided a cable company. Other Internet tweaking utilities I tried either made no difference or just made things worse. This one gets the job done, and gets it done right! If your webpages are not loading as fast as you'd expect from your broadband (non-dialup) connection, I promise you that this will be the best $24.95 you'll ever spend!

• Well Presented Software - But didn't increase my speed

  Pros

  Program is well presented, everything seems to work well. Internet Explorer Accelerator & Graphical Display of Network only availiable if you buy the "Pro" program. Has its own built in Speed Test Option which is simple & works well.

  Cons

  Didn't increase my speed at all!! Actually slowed it down. Went thru "all" the options available. The last option - Restore Windows Defaults worked the best :)

  Installed 15-09-2010 - I have Dailup Internet Speed test - Latency - 412ms. Download Speed - 33.8 kbps(4.1KB/sec), Upload Speed 31.3 kbps(3.8 KB/sec) After Option 1 - Restarted Computer - Latency - 426ms. Download Speed - 19.5 kbps(2.6 KB/sec), Upload Speed 27.9 kbps(3.4 KB/sec) After Option 2 - Restarted Computer - Latency - 445ms. Download Speed - 11.3 kbps(1.4 KB/sec), Upload Speed 26.2 kbps(3.2 KB/sec) After Option 3 - No Restart Needed - It Froze for over 5 mins(or to slow) Twice After Option 4 - No Restart Needed- Latency - 414ms. Download Speed - 31.8 kbps(3.9 KB/sec), Upload Speed 31.0 kbps(3.8 KB/sec) After Option 5 - No Restart Needed - Latency - 411ms. Download Speed - 32.5 kbps(4.0 KB/sec), Upload Speed 30.7 kbps(3.8 KB/sec) Restored Original Settings before Installation - Restarted Computer - Latency -555ms. Download Speed - 5.5 kbps(0.7 KB/sec), Upload Speed 29.3 kbps(3.6 KB/sec) Restored Windows Default Settings - Restarted Computer - BEST OPTION - Latency - 491ms. Download Speed - 32.7 kbps(0.7 KB/sec), Upload Speed 29.3 kbps(3.6 KB/sec) I expected this program to actually help make my internet speed faster, but it didn't. I won't be buying it. I've tried 3 of the most downloaded programs now & they all haven't worked. Looks like increasing your speed is a myth :(

  Pros

  Program does contain many features such as ping, traceroute etc. but these tools are not hard to acquire.

  Cons

  Program is NOT FREE and UNLIMITED. Noticed little to no connection improvement on my DSL connection.

  Summary

  You are essentially getting a 30 day trial unless you want register for other trails or "low cost" offers from multiple . DOWNLOAD.COM needs to tighten up on software peders that lists programs as FREE and UNLIMITED when in actuality they are only FREE to try.

  software failed to improve performance. did not include uninstall. after uninstalling w/ OS my internet performance dropped dramatically. I went to restore and found that all my restore points had been deleted by this software. The company is apparently tracking my DNS cache. These people are a**holes.
