"The best utility for the job I could find for free"
Version: TransMac 10.0
Pros
Free for 15 days, easy to work with
Cons
Cant directly transfer from one external drive to another (both mac). You have to transfer to your PC first, and than to the external drive... Doubles the time!

"Opened a .dmg file on a windows 7 x64 system"
Version: TransMac 10.0

Cons

"Does precisely what is claims"
Version: TransMac 10.0
Pros
Burns dmg files for Mac, including some that other programs have a hard time with. Dual Layer not a problem.
Cons
Cost. While the software is good, $48.00 is a bit steep.
Summary
I have seen programs that *recognize* and burn dmg files, but they sometimes hang up or fail to burn in such a way that properly works with OSX. TransMac has not failed once in the time I have tested the trial version.
All dual layer dmg burns worked as well, which is specifically where some others had failed for me. -
"Used it a long time ago."
Version: TransMac 10.0

It worked like it's supposed to.
Cons
None that I know of.
-
"does not perform the required task"
Version: TransMac 9.2
Pros
Having not been able to open the required files therefore there are no "pros"
Cons
The sole purpose for requiring this program was to open clarisworks(CWK) files established on a previous version of windows(32 bit xp) in order to open these files in windows7(64 bit) which I cannot seem to achieve
Summary
I would like the product if it woulds perform the required task

Opened Mac dmg files that other apps could not open.
Worked even when run under Windows 7.Cons
It has only a 15 day trial period.

"Read my old zip disks"
Version: TransMac 8.1
Pros
It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It reads Mac HFS+ discs on an XP machine.
Cons
User interface could have been a bit better - would have preferred full folder drag and drop from the left pane.
Summary
I had a collection of 100 MB zip disks that were 10 to 15 years old I wanted to archive. After I finally got an old Zip drive hooked up to my XP machine, TransMac worked wonderfully. Highly recommended.

"Worked great for me."
Version: TransMac 8.1
Pros
Allowed me to copy my photos from my Mac CDs and disk drive.
Cons
30 day trial is not long enough:)

"Did not copy files correctly"
Version: TransMac 8.1
Pros
It had a nice user interface...
Cons
The software did not copy files from my Macintosh CD correctly. The files came out wrong size and with corrupted data. There is another demo software available that does it correctly, just Google for "copy macintosh cd"...
