  Pros

  Facilitates creativity with its fantastic effects, looping and hotcues section. The new remix decks, flux mode and macro FX coming in new versions of Traktor show that it is the only DJ software really dedicated to creativity and expression. The future of DJing is expression through smooth, tactile hardware (such as those NI is producing) and well-supported software. You can only get this in Traktor. The UI is incredibly well rounded and attractive, and is leaps and bounds ahead of any competition. Native Instruments has a good name for support, constant updates and guaranteed premium products.

  Cons

  Controller Manager lacks many features; output learn is a great new feature in 2.5, but even as much as a resizable window would go a long way. Serato's track analyser is years ahead of Traktor's, but apart from this, Traktor kills its competition. Lack of scripting (javascript, LUA) for MIDI. Even VDJ has this, and while most users don't even know it exists, it is a very valuable feature.

  Summary

  There are many DJ softwares out there, and each have their own place in the market. Traktor is the 'premium' software, more upmarket and allowing for more creative and professional mixing, and it does it well. While VDJ has its place in the lower-end, cheaper, and more user-friendly market, Traktor smashes it with its fantastic UI, mapping tools and a great list of intuitive creativity enhancing features.

  Pros

  Loved the program. Been using Virtual DJ regular and pro versions for years but THIS is what you grow to. I got this to go with Hercules DJ Console Rmx and it works well with that-even better features than Virtual DJ which was made for that.

  Cons

  It is NOT for computers that are faint at heart. I had a Toshiba laptop that was low end using this and some features such as recording with a mic didn't work right. Some of the stuff I'd do on the fly wouldn't work. Make sure you have a good laptop.

  Summary

  It is worth the purchase. Much higher end software than most especially if you are a new DJ. If you are experienced then it is PERFECT cause you've already been through a lot of trial and error! Get this and change your DJ life forever.
