Publisher's Description
From Atari:
Set in the near future, TimeShift from Saber Interactive will take the first-person genre to an entirely different dimension marked by erratic time and unrelenting action. TimeShift transports gamers to a strange yet familiar world where individual rights have been eradicated and a tyrannical leader rules ruthlessly with an iron fist.
Gamers assume the role of renowned and recently retired test pilot Colonel Michael Swift, who has just lost his only daughter to a bus accident. Bleak, depressed and desperate for an escape from his misery, Swift decides to accept a recent offer from the US Government. Armed with a time-control device called the "Quantum Suit" and a time machine called the "Chronomicon," Swift sets out to test the most significant inventions of the century. He is briefly sent back in time to plant an experimental probe. Upon his return to the present, a shift has occurred. The world he left has changed beyond all recognition. And his knowledge of the true time stream has made him an enemy of the state. Swift is now both on the run and on a mission to set time straight once again.
Use your ability to slow, stop, and rewind time to battle your futuristic foes in this demo for the new action first person shooter game, Timeshift.

"Not the real Time Shift....This one was canceled."
Version: Timeshift demo
Pros
well it ran, graphics are okay for 2006. Dont really know much about the pros cuz i didnt play it much.
I gave it 2 stars cuz atleast it worked and its okay in terms of graphics and gameplay.Cons
This isn't the real TimeShift released in 2007 by sierra.
This is the old project that was undertaken by atari which got canceled.
hence Wont really tell you what timeshift is likeSummary
Sierra released Time Shift in 2007.
Graphics are really good of that one. This one though is not the Time Shift out in stores, this one got canceled due to some problems.
Wont really give you an idea of what the real timeshift is.
Not worth downloading, unless you got an old rig and just want to play the demo of an unreleased game. -
"ONE OF THE FINEST FPS OF OUR GENERATION !"
Version: Timeshift demo
Pros
Awesome graphics, excellent gameplay, good selection of weapons
Cons
Older systems may suffer gameplay issues
Summary
Finding a good first person shooter is a difficult task with so many of them being made, and with most games concentrating on a specific genre they can become repetative
however sierra have developed a game which is totally different in its design, for example the games title is also a function within the game, the timshift feature allows you to either slow or stop time so you can shoot your enemys much easier
as for pc requirments timeshift sits around about midway,it will run on most p.c,s built within the last 5 years however a direct x 9 graphics card is required and a minimum of 1gb ram however 2gb ram will yeild better results
allthough most post geforce 4 cards will run timeshift i would recommend a geforce 6600gt or above for optimal performance, and for ati cards a x1650pro and above is required
most processors will run timeshift however a pentium 4.amd athlon64 over 2ghz should be ok but a dual core cpu would be better
and finally for optimal performance ensure you update both your direct x runtime files and nvidia and ati display drivers
a excellent and enjoyable game thats worth every penny

"Time concept executed well, gorgeous graphics adds up to a promising FPS"
Version: Timeshift demo
Pros
Graphics look better than the Source Engine games (e.g., Half Life: EP2), and well optimized (I can run at 1920x1200, though I have a quite recent system).
Playing with time is a nice concept.
Cons
Dumbing down the time effects to a single button auto-choice may take away from the fun of solving time-puzzles.

-

Cons

"Thumbs down"
Version: Timeshift demo
Pros
None
Cons
This game sucks! Why in the world would the developers release a demo with a error in the file while trying to load this? Do not waste your time people! Although I did not care for Max Payne 2 much, I'd play it, before I tried to play this game. Bad, very bad!

"Different, but good"
Version: Timeshift demo
Pros
This game has a pretty nice storyline, and its graphics aren't all too bad. With nicely detailed environments, and multiple weapons/enemies that make it a bit addictive. The time abilities are also a very nice touch, with the player being able to nimbly move out of the way of incoming lead.
Cons
The demo is two levels long.
-
"Time will tell!"
Version: Timeshift demo
Pros
To give the player a 4th dimension is just great. Pausing the game to get through remote opened gates is just very good found. Taking away weapons from enemies when you stopped time is so much fun! The engine is also one of the pretiest i've ever seen.
Cons
Almost everything is scripted, if you play the game again, you know excactly where all the enmies are and wich paths they take. This takes a lot of replay value away. The game is about walking through predefined paths and there's almost no getting of the path, hopefully this will be corrected.
