"What is with the reviews - is this youtube ?"
Version: The Virtual Decorator - Room & Home Design 3.1
Pros
There is a free version available for everyone to try and decide for themselves !
Cons
The software didn't do exactly what I wanted in the end so I didn't purchase the upgrade - but I determined that using the free trial and have absolutely no complaints.
Summary
I am writing this review because I think that some of the negative reviews here are totally totally unreasonable this place is turning into youtube.
Personally I think this software is so so to OK - I can see and appreciate the things it does well but IMHO its not great and there is definitely room for improvement.
In the end I decided there was another product on the market that does what I wanted better BUT that said the really negative reviews here are about the customer service and the software not working after purchase ?
This company like most software developers today provides a free version for trial and evaluation - that is your chance to download the software for free and try it and decide if its right for you.
Developers do this for three reasons
1 To give us a try before we buy
2 To remove all the compatibility issues with complex software - ie your 10 year old machine that blue screens every 10 minutes cant be "supported"
3 To remove the dead wood users from the high service need customers - yes there are plenty of people out there that could not drive software if their life was dependent on it - you have clearly never worked a "help desk" if you don't believe this.
When you have enough downloads in a day you are going to get a lot of issue 2 and 3.
So to those negative comments as far as I am concerned if you bought this software without using the free trial with an expectation that the developer should be held responsible if your PC cant drive it or you cant drive it then you and only you are responsible for that.
This company like many others put their software out there and say if you like it you can buy it, but please try it first - most developers have a policy of no refunds after purchase - yes even big ones so take responsibility for yourselves instead of blaming others.
Take away - always try software first and only buy it if you like it. -
"Ordered and never received."

Cons
Paid for the full version and got nothing.
Summary
They got my money, I got nothing. Avoid this software.

"Shane Wallace - Con artist"
Version: The Virtual Decorator - Room & Home Design 3.1
Pros
Absolutely nothing
Cons
Absolutely everything.
Summary
I made an account just so I could write this. "Shane Wallace" is a stain on the earth. I paid the money for the full version, and the program refused to work. So I emailed support, and after a few days, got word back from Mr. Wallace. I will say that he did make actually make an attempt to help me in the first email - - Me: Hello,
I've purchased the full version of your software, however upon starting the program it crashes saying that the vb3core.exe has stopped working. I need this software for a project, and must know how to make it work. I am running Vista 32-bit. Please respond immediately with any information.
Shane: I know this fault - it is a rare, intermittent issue with Graphics Cards Drivers, it doesn't happen often and in always identified with the free trial version so that it doesn't inconvenience customers.
You didn't have the issue with the free trial ? and it only occurs in the upgrade ?
Me: Hello Shane,
No, in fact I never used the trial whatsoever. I went straight to the full version. What can be done to fix this.
That was it. Never responded back, didn't offer any sort of help. Just took my money and split. Shane Wallace, I hope you read this, enjoy my 25 bucks. Maybe invest it into your garbage software and fix that "rare, intermittent issue" you told me about.
Thanks for nothing. -

"Interior decorators beware"
Version: The Virtual Decorator - Room & Home Design 3.1
Pros
Looks like a great product, function, flexibility.
Cons
Furniture library very limited. Online assistance took a rather rude tone.
Summary
Interior decorators need more variety in furnishings, basic shapes.
-
"Lousy Support and abusive staff"
Version: The Virtual Decorator - Room & Home Design 3.1
Pros
This product has not pros whatsoever.
Cons
Nothing works for me. The video wont stop playing and support wont help. I cannot clicm on ANYTHING on the screen. Actually their only email was abusive. I think there are better products on the market. No support. Look elsewhere.
Summary
he sales and support people of this software are very abusive and abrasive. I downloaded a copy and when things refused to work, I sent in an email asking for assistance. What I got back was an abusive letter from one Shane Wallace, calling me "an idiot" and "dont waste my time", "go away" and other such things... Don't bother with these guys, your money is better spent elsewhere. If a user has a problem and you respond in anger, it just shows arrogance and unwillingness to accept the fact that the product is a dud and the company filled with losers.

"Impossible to place objects accurately."
Version: The Virtual Decorator - Room & Home Design 3.1
Cons
Yes, this trial version has a VERY limited selection of objects, but that's not the real problem... placing them is. I spent 20 minutes trying to get a door on the left side of the wall. Once it's set you can't move it, you can only delete it and start the process all over. Very annoying... It would take less time (and be more acurate) to draw a 3D room.

"Limited version of the full viewbuild software"
Version: The Virtual Decorator - Room & Home Design 3.1
Pros
This software is good for viewing files created in viewbuild professional the viewbuild technology has always been excellent and what i like is that www dot viewbuild dot com which are the actual developers of the viewbuild technology actually have a proper windows vista upgrade to this software that makes it run much better than this version . Their 3d modeling service and support is excellent - one of the best in the business - And i have had many buildings modeled.
Cons
The virtual decorator is not very good under Vista. Very limited functionality - more cookie-cutter than proper package. I would definitely visit the developers of the technology rather than waste time with this version as this version has to be upgraded at www dot viewbuild dot com anyway.
