The Synthis Process Modeler is a flowchart based process documentation tool that helps business people visually map and document their business processes. Using simple flowcharting and process mapping techniques, users can create information rich process flow diagrams that can be easily accessed via any web page or portal. Synthis provides built-in support for compliance and process improvement programs such as Sarbanes-Oxley, ISO 9000/13485/27001, Lean Six Sigma, and BPM projects.
The Synthis Process Modeler desktop application integrates seamlessly with the Synthis Repository, whose capabilities include automatic revisioning and version control, web-based security management, and full-text search within your published process models and related documents.
Version R4 includes web-based viewing of published process models, new BPMN and VSM stencils, and comprehensive internationalization support.
ersion R4 includes substantial new diagramming capabilities, a brand new user interface, and an all new Synthis Maps (TM) module that provides a highly interactive HMTL interface for navigating your process models via web browser.

Version: Synthis Process Modeler R4
Pros: I was able to build several process maps and automatically generate very professional looking process narrative documents for each process map in just a few minutes.
Cons: None so far.

Version: Synthis Process Modeler R4
Pros: This product is probably best described as "Visio on steroids". It is easier to use than Visio for creating simple process maps, but has lots of advanced capabilities that go well beyond simple flowcharting tools like Visio and SmartDraw.
Cons: Excellent for process mapping/modeling. Would be nice to have an integrated spell checker.
Summary: Better than anything else I've seen on the market.
