I have no clue why they dropped support for the Cricut machines.. but since then I have no use for the newer versions of this software.

I highly recommend this software though! -
"Works great, importing simple vectorized files."
Version: Sure Cuts A Lot 2.005
Pros
It may not handle complex vectors with too many nodes, however using "Inkscape" ( a shareware program available here on CNET) to create SVG files with "simplified node structures" will help to prevent freezing.
Cons
It does not support all type fonts. This problem is off-set by importing them as paths in SVG format. Spooling memory may be too small for larger files. Don't make things too complicated,..
Summary
Savings, flexibility, and ease of use,.. nothing else to say except,.." it's not FREE!"

"Freezes during long cuts or between multiple cuts"
Version: Sure Cuts A Lot 2.005
Pros
I love the idea of cutting patterns without having to have the expensive cartridges. This provides an option for Mac users, who can't use the Cricut software.
Cons
The program freezes when trying to cut. The only way to recover is to restart the Cricut, or shut SCAL down. If you have multiple cuts on a page, it will only get through 2 or 3cuts before freezing. No helpful solutions from product support, either.
Summary
Until they fix the problems or come up with a work around, the program is too expensive and frustrating.
