Works great on my 15" MacBook Pro (OSX 10.5.5, Intel Core Duo 2Ghz, 2 Mb mem.). Thanks a lot, IronHorseJohn ! I look forward to trying it with my 7 grandchildren...After running the demo version about 10 times, I am happy to send you the 15$ you absolutely deserve! Keep on improving it...

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Version 2 adds incredible graphics courtesy of OpenGL. Night views and very realistic smoke, bi-directional trains and more. As a developer I appreciate the major effort it takes to upgrade to OpenGL, so this relatively short delivery of OpenGL says a lot about the developer's skill and *commitment* to enhancing this product. This product, IMO, is easily worth $40 or more. It is unique. Sure, there are other train sims, but not with the details and feel of SteamTRAIN. The developer is responsive to user requests and seriously considers all enhancement requests. This customer service alone is worth my registration fee. I can't buy this kind of service from the large software companies. Kudos to this developer for a wonderful product delivered at a reasonable price.

Intelligent, witty, a few scares ... it's been a pleasure to see this app evolve as my grandson has grown into this challenging game, and I thank the developer for this unique app.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This could be something. But it's fun for 15 minutes, then it's enough. You can not design you own trains nor your own terrain. I know this would require some other kind of programming, but it could be a kind of open to everyone to send in your own train. I feel there is more in this, but the developer seems to lacks time (and money?) to really make something out of this. Also I don't like the big train in the bottom half of the screen, I want to switch that off, but that's not possible. And I think $25 is too much. $10 would be more appropriate, but then again, it needs more features. Network connection to be on the same track as my friend?

This is it. I paid my shareware after I tried an earlier version and the upgrades have been nice. No - it's not a complex simulation - but if you go to dispatcher mode it can get tricky and difficult with some thinking involved. I give it a thumbs up - and it works nicely on a dual 2ghz G5.

I like the graphics and set-up of the game - the retro style remembers me of the good old Commodore 64 years... Have not decided yet, however, whether this will be a keeper or not - have to play around with for a couple of times or so... Why not give it a try too?
